BIG THREE

Kobe Bryant
Andrew Bynum
Pau Gasol

vs.

Kevin Garnett
Paul Pierce
Ray Allen

I take Kobe Bryant Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol because they have Kobe Bryant.

I'll take the Celtics' Big 3 any time over the Lakers' one. Andrew Bynum is the weakest link here. But then he can hit the sky hook and has a 38" vertical, and KG doesn't have those, so the Lakers must be better.

What really surprises me is that I didn't ignore Phil Jackson yet... but I like to laugh at idiotic posts, so I don't think I will...

3 on 3 cletics Big 3
12 on 12 Lakers
And I predict the Lakers will still lose in the 1st round.

It's really big 4 vs big 3.

Even though KG's impact is insane(he's been the best player in the last few years IMO), how can you beat two All-Star bigs(though honestly, before Bynum went down, he was playing closer to a superstar than an All-Star)?

Before the trade, I would have ranked it like this:

KG > Kobe
Pierce < Bynum
Odom = Allen

Look at the EFF and you'll see that it reflects that as well. Adjust it for defense and minutes(remember that Bynum is playing considerably less minutes than the others) and I think you'll still see it hold the same way.

You add Gasol to that mix and it's NO contest.

Kobe is not as good as KG IMO. You see Kobe's plays against the Mavs, Cavs and Pistons? KG has that type of impact almost every game. That's because his defense is always there. Of course, we can't just look at Kobe's recent games and ignore the bad games he had earlier in the season.

To me, the definition of a superstar is one who makes good plays about 85% of the times. With Kobe, that percentage seems closer to 80, whereas with KG, it seems closer to 90.

Duncan is definitely not better than either KG or Kobe this season. He's not the same defender he's used to be, and his PER differential is considerably lower than the other two.

I'll take Boston on a 12 man team..Gasol is a weak defender..Allen and Pierce haven't been known as great defenders in the past, but they've been absolutely great with the team D this year, and Boston has been #1 on D..they were solid in 2 of the last 3 games without KG as well defensively..

LOL @ Gasol or Bynum being better than Pierce..

they aren't even better than Allen..Bynum could end up being better at the end of the year, but definitely not right now..it's funny that Gasol instantly becomes overrated because he now plays for LA..

Gasol is absolutely better than Ray Allen. As a secondary option, Gasol can give you 18 and 9 along with a few assists and blocks. I would rather have his post presence and defense than Ray Allen's shot and no defense.

what defense does Gasol have? he blocks shots, he isn't good enough on D to win an overall better vs. Allen..also add in the fact that Allen is a much improved defender this year..and this is coming from someone who hates Ray Allen..
