I am pretty sure the Lakers would love to play the Suns this year in the playoffs to get some revenge. If that were to happen, who would win?

NOTE: Will Homecourt Advantage be the difference?

Los Angeles Lakers

PG: Fisher/Farmar
SG: Kobe/Sasha
SF: Odom/Ariza/Walton
PF: Gasol/Turiaf/Vlad
C: Bynum/Mihm/Mbenga

Phoenix Suns

PG: Nash/Banks
SG: Bell/Barbosa/Strawberry
SF: Hill/Piatkowski/Tucker
PF: Marion/Diaw/Marks
C: Amare/Skinner

Lakers.

Post the Lakers and Suns lineup in 05-06 when the Lakers had them on the verge of elimination.

Phx is the only "elite" team I am not afraid of playing. IMO, we can sweep them in 4 games pretty easily.

We have a 12 man rotation. They have a 7 man rotation. That's 10 more fresh legs.

We're also much much much bigger with 3 legit big men(Odom, Gasol, Bynum) and 4 if you count Mihm.

We play far better defense and we play inside out rather than outside in.

I still can't believe we have Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum upfront.

4-1, Lakers way, IMO. Suns (Amare) wouldn't be able to handle Gasol or Bynum at all.

How the hell would they beat the lakers at full strength? Marion would get Owned by Lamar, Amare would foul it and get owned by Bynum, Hell I don't even know who the **** guards Gasol. And this is not even mentioning Kobe..smh. If the Lakers find any kind of chemistry at full strength leading into the playoffs, they would absolutely sweep the suns. Its the equivalent of the JV team playing the Varsity team, its just not fair in many ways.

Hmmm...I think this was the year that everyone thought that the Lakers could arguably take it to the Suns in a 7 game series.

w/ Gasol there is no question the Lakers beat this team. I think 6 games.

Lake Show in 6

i must be one of the last Laker fans that has not become delusional ... though were looking good on paper now we still have to see this team Gel and play together 1st .. even then Phoenix is a tough matchup the way they would be running up and down the court would tire our big men .. though Turiaf and Mihm is not bad options coming off the bench (not to mention Odom getting some time at 4)

This may finally be the year the Lakers Beat them in a series but it will be closer than some fans think .. 6 games i say for the Lakers and if Suns get homecourt it will be tougher but i still see the laker's Taking it ..

Nash>fisher
Kobe>Bell
Hill=Odom
Gasol>Marion
Bynum???Stoudamire
(Bynum has outplayed him in the 2 meetings this season (heck even owned him isnt far off) but im not sure Bynum can outplay him every night .. surely in one category he can beat him up all day and thats rebounding

Kobe sets Bynum up too well, throw out Gasol and I'd still take the Lakers over the Suns. Lamar has a habit of abusing the Suns in the playoffs, and with how Bynum has progressed just cod damn yo...

lakers were going to beat the suns even before the gasol trade. bynum is just too much for the suns.

I would have picked LA before Gasol..Phoenix needs to get another big to play D in the post, or else they obviously wouldn't wanna play a team with 2 legit bigs..

they would have to score 120+ every game to win if the post D doesn't improve..

This series would have to happen in Round 2 if the Lakers and Suns are the #2 and #3 seeds.

Until the suns get a legit big man who plays D, or Amare stops being a pylon, the Lakers,Spurs,Celts etc will wreck them. Any team with a star big and good-great supporting cast.

Easily LA. Phoenix has always been soft inside, and I had LA as able to take Phoenix this year with just Bynum's emergence. Now throw in Gasol and it's a massacre.

I think for the Suns to be better off that they need to have the starting lineup as the following and sign PJ Brown.

PG: Nash/Banks
SG: Bell/Barbosa/Strawberry
SF: Marion/Hill/Piatkowski/Tucker
PF: Diaw/PJ Brown/Marks
C: Amare/Skinner

Well if i have to chose one of the two . I have to take the Lakers because the style the suns play isn't going to win a championship.

A 7-8 player rotation on a run and gun system playing 82 reg. season games and 4 long playoff series , this can't work .

Players are only human they'll get tired at a certain point.
