Who is the better player?

Prime Pippen easily. Lebron is more flashy than Pippen (did I just say that?), but Pippen was just a beast. Few people realize how good he was since he was always in Jordan's shadow...

Pippen was better defensively and I don't see that changing just because Pippen was able to concentrate on it more.

But other than that Lebron is a bigger Pippen. That do things so similarly but Lebron does it with more strength and power........
I'm so tired of the typical......

Pippen was a fantastic defender and a very good ball-handler and passer but Lebron produces a comparable volume of assists while being a much more prolific scorer... and well superior in that regard (scoring), at that. Pippen couldn't have dreamt of doing what Lebron does, even in his best season. Lebron's got the build of Karl Malone less 10 pounds and almost Jordan-like athleticism, which is patently unfair to the rest of the league.

I'd take Lebron over Pippen unless I already had a Jordan on my team.

I'll take LeBron.

His impact on the game is tremendous. I think everyone in this thread can agree that Pippen was a phenomenal player, but LeBron now is already a top 2 guy in the NBA.

A better question would be could a prime Pippen guard current Lebron?

I think he would slow him down, but Bron would still be able to put up 20+ ppg, while racking up assists.

It'd depend on when; Pippen himself has said he couldn't defend as well as he did back in his day now because the rules don't allow it... then, it'd be less difficult but Lebron is still sized like Malone and as athletic as you can imagine a player of those dimensions ever being. If he were playing against Chicago in general, those dynasty Bulls, then I could see him having some trouble though.
