Who would you pick?

Depends on what you need.
Horford is a better rebounder / defender
Aldridge is fast / better scorer.
RIGHT NOW, I'd say Horford is better hands down. However, Aldridge has more upside due to his athleticism.

Horford now and in the future. Horford does his work down low, where you want/need your PF to be.
Aldridge is a great shooter, but I'd prefer my guards were taking all of the jumpshots.

ill take aldridge...he is 6'11, has a nice decent jumpshot, his only weakness is his strength

I have a man crush on Horford, so he's got to be my pick. Just think he has a bit more potential and is a much better defender.

Horford is the flavor of the month right now, so he'll get plenty of love in this thread. And that's not meant to bash him, he's have a fantastic rookie season.
Farzi said it best, it depends on what you need. Aldridge is a fast finesse PF while Horford is your more classic grind it out PF. Also, while watching the game last night, I saw Aldridge and Horford standing side by side and was surprised to see how much taller Aldridge was than Horford. Either Aldridge is taller than 6-11 or Horford is shorter than 6-10, because there's no way that was a 1 inch difference between the two.
Horford is a more well rounded player than Aldridge. Defense is probably a wash for the two. Then Aldridge is the a better scorer, but needs to work on his rebounding and just in general, bulk up some.

Two of my favorite young players... neither a Warrior
I'm partial to people who get the dirty stuff done... I really like what Horford can be if he gets some offensive finesse going.
That said, I've always thought it was easier to learn defense than learn offense... I'd take Aldridge for the long haul.

You have to remember that Horford would be a lot better at his natural position (PF). He's putting up those stats against centers right now.

lol @ Bargnani
I'd go with Horford, although I think people may be overstepping on estimating his potential. I'd say in a few years he'll be averaging around 18 and 12.

I'm mildly concerned about where Horford's ceiling as a scorer is and Aldridge is actually a pretty sound defender. The big differences here are scorer vs. rebounder... Horford's a noticeably superior rebounder and Aldridge is the vastly more skilled offensive player and always will be.
For those who don't realize it, he actually DOES play in the post a fair bit, he isn't all about jumpers and face-up drives. He's got a nice righty hook and some decent footwork, including the setup to the Garnett over-the-shoulder-fadeaway on the left block.
Tough call; Aldridge is a weak rebounder for a guy with his size/length/athleticism but he's better than, say, Bargnani, and the gap between he and Horford there isn't as big as the gap in scoring ability.
Tough call; I thought Horford would be a better scorer than he is now but he's also out of position, so that's tough.
I'll go LMA, myself.

I don't know i don't like Aldridges game he reminds me alot of Joe Smith (which isn't bad ) but i personally see Horfords ceiling higher .

Why so? Aldridge will remain the superior scorer and the other gaps aren't so wide as to make up for that. What makes you think Horford has a higher ceiling?

I like Aldridge, though I would be plenty happy with either.

Second that; he'd be a beautiful fit in Toronto, that's for sure.
