Dwight Howard..

Post#1 » by HarlemHeat37 » Mon Feb 18, 2008 5:18 am

where does he rank on the list of top big men in the NBA?..

so if you place TD, KG, Yao, Dirk, Amare, Bosh, Boozer, Brand and the other top big men in the NBA, where does Dwight Howard rank?..

NOT JUST THIS SEASON, BUT IN GENERAL..so ignoring Duncan and KG's laid back regular seasons, but in general..

3rd behind Duncan and Garnett. I'm divided on whether or not I should put Yao ahead of him too.

3rd place, I think it's a wash between him and Yao.

his level of play kind of dropped off as the season progressed. I would probably lean towards Yao.... I voted 4rth.

brand is an interesting inclusion. He doesn't get much respect and he actually plays offense and defense unlike Dwight who is streaky with defense, and Dirk who is allergic to defense.

your list would be assuming Brand makes a full recovery though.

Elton Brand might be the most underrated player in the NBA though. I feel like after that one season where they tried to hype him up as an MVP candidate and then he tailed off, that the media just stopped bothering with him.

I voted Dwight 4th since i don't think it is even an argument that Duncan, Yao, and KG are better since they are all consistant on both ends of the court and have more tools on the offensive end and all are better passers.

Dwight is scary though, he is going to pass Lebron in a year or two as the best young player in the league.

i would go

Duncan
Yao
KG
Howard

with Brand as the wildcard possibly passing KG and Howard if he has a full recovery.

Duncan and KG, sure, but Yao? Seriously? Explain. Honestly, I think Dwight owns Yao in every aspect.

Defense, offensive playmaking ability, variety of weapons on the offensive end, range of shot, and Yao has a worse team around him and has a better record than Howard.
