BEST STARTING LINE-UP

Post#1 » by joe.linnen » Tue Feb 19, 2008 8:15 pm

Be honest what starting line-up would you rather take into the playoffs. Your bench would be as follows Farmar/Barbosa/Nocioni/Villanueva/Nene

San Antonio
SF:Bowen
PF:Duncan
C:Oberto
SG:Finley/Ginobili
PG:Parker

L. A. Lakers
SF:Odom
PF:Gasol
C:Bynum
SG:Bryant
PG:Fisher

Dallas
SF:Howard
PF:Nowitzki
C:Dampier
SG:Terry
PG:Kidd

Suns
SF:Hill
PF:Stoudemire
C:O'Neal
SG:Bell
PG:Nash

Boston
SF:Pierce
PF:Garnett
C:Perkins
SG:Allen
PG:Rondo

Detroit
SF:Prince
PF:Wallace
C:McDyess
SG:Hamilton
PG:Billups

Lakers if healthy, though that probably won't happen until next year.

Otherwise I say Boston, though it depends on how Shaq and Kidd fit in with their teams.

Man that's pretty tough a lot of good teams out there. You should have included NO's starting lineup though they're solid. At the same time there are also a lot of questions with most of those teams. That said if you count Manu in the starting lineup instead of Finley then I'd probably go with SA.

why do you have to put it that way? the "rivalry" is coming from your side, really. quit it already.

the hornets starting lineup is one of the best, in particular because they relied on it so much at the beginning of the season and won so much, because he bench wasn't cutting it. now that the bench is finally healthy, its a big reason why they are continuing to win, without relying on the starters to win it every game. in fact the bench gets us out of messes lately.

so in terms of that lenova stat, out starters have gone down a few notches since our bench is a lot better!

i'd take the celtics, then the suns next. then the spurs. i'm no fan of pau, and the kobester is hurt, so we'll see how they play with a tough schedule, and bynum is still out anway. not much of a lineup when two big starters are hurt or out.

Why does it matter what the bench is if the topic is BEST STARTING LINEUP?

I would probably go with this:

Lakers
Suns
Dallas
Hornets
Celtics
Spurs (Ginobli comes off the bench so Finley would be the starter)
Pistons (They have been relying on their bench way more this season than seasons past.

i think some teams are more motivated to get it done, when they look back at their bench and have their stomach growl, if you know what i mean.

The Lakers have the best on paper. They don't have any weaknesses in that lineup.

Its become beyond silly to put the Lakers in any poll. Either they're the best team ever, or they have the most homers on this entire board.
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.
