Fantasy Draft - CP3 or Amare?

Post#1 » by gswhoops » Wed Feb 20, 2008 4:42 am

Scenario: NBA Fantasy draft, all 30 teams, everyone on the board. You have the third pick, LeBron and Dwight Howard have gone #1 and #2. Anyone else is available. Who do you take?

I thought Paul would be the choice, both my brother and dad went with Amare. Who would you take?

Between Paul and Amare, it's C.P hands down. Kobe Bryant has to be up there as well.

Kevin Durant and I would stick him in the weight room and then put him at PF

Only reason you take a big man is because they can anchor your defense and that's not Amare's specialty. CP3 by a pretty fair margin IMO.

Amare isn't near my 3rd pick. I'll take Paul, Anthony, Yao, Bynum, Wade, D. Williams, Boozer, and probably a few others over him as well. His defense is atrocious and we don't know exactly what he can do without Nash.

As for the question, I'd take Paul or Yao third. Healthy D-Wade takes 3rd, but thats a different story.

Exactly what I was going to say . . . though if it is a one year draft rather than something for the next 10 years, Kobe is the obvious choice

Certainly Paul over Amare. Amare plays one end of the floor (albeit he does it very well) but he also has an injury past and you just never know with knee problems. Paul is a leader and PG is the second most important position in the game. He can single handedly control the pace of a game. The only other person I would consider at #3 would be Yao ming.

Top 5:
1) Lebron
2) D12
3) CP3
4) Yao
5) Kobe
