Who is better? Marion and artest is as close as you can get in my opinion.
Marion is a little better shooter, while artest is better post up player. Marion is probley a better rebounder but artest is alil better on defense.
Who do you take?

Artest is a slightly better man-to-man defender. Marion is a slightly better offensive player.
I think the biggest difference is that Marion is a good offensive player without any plays being called for him. He goes out and gets 20 points a game in the flow of the offense. Artest kills ball movement when he gets the ball.
Marion > Artest.

Marion > Artest.
That's overblown...True, at times he stops the flow (Few possessions) BUT come one, "kills" ball movement when he gets the ball? He actually makes the team better when he has the ball ON his hands... He stabilizes the offense...He is THAT key on offense (Same goes with Brad)... Ask Kings fans, that concept is very overblown...

if you have a coach who finally makes Ron realize he isn't a dominate offensive player on the perimeter, and his strengths are in the mid-range and post game on offense, then i would take Ron.
Ron is like Q-brick, in that both don't realize howmuch they could dominate SGs or SFs in the post up game.

If you want a player for one season to win you a championship, you take Artest. If you want a long-term player who will be part of your core, you take Marion.
Artest>Marion as a player though.

Artest.....he can shut his man down and he abuses people down low.
And when the game is on the line i would definitely go with ron.

Marion > Artest.
I disagree with you there. Artest is by far a better half court player than Marion, Marion is obviously better in a fast paced offense. You can throw the ball in to Artest in the post, he can go off the dribble and he's also a better shooter than Marion( almost 37% three point %). I may be a bit bias but I think Artest is a much better offensive player than Marion.
Artest>Marion at least for this season.

Artest's combo of strength, size, and speed allows him to score in the post and drive at will, while being a nightmarish defender. Artest's the better player.

Artest is more talented and much better as a number 1 option. Artest would be more productive than Marion on a team with not a lot of scorers. Marion would be more productive on a championship team.

Artest is more than a slightly better man defender than Marion. Marion isn't even close to being the defender Artest is.

I think Marion's defense is quite underrated.

Artest is better on both offense and man-to-man defense, Marion is better on help defense and rebounding, but that's it. Marion doesn't draw double teams in the low post nor does he find find cutters from the high post.
