Whos gonna be the better NBA player? Both are putting up similar numbers in their first year of college.

Beasley. Better overall numbers, and he's better built for the NBA.

Thats the thing though. Beasley is built for the NBA right now, Durant flat out dominated college last year built like a 12 year old girl.
If (or when) he fills out he will be very hard to stop. I still think Durant will be the better pro.

Durant has explosiveness and all, and when I watch him I believe he'll amount to something, but when you look at the boxscore, you can't help but see he's one dimensional. I'm sure it'll change, but I don't think he'll ever be the top 5, nor top 10.

It's too early to compare them but i think that Beasley is more NBA ready.

Beasley is a black hole. If he shoots over 45 percent from the field in the NBA ever, I'll be shocked. He makes Jr Smith look unselfish.

Beasley is more NBA ready, but Durant will have a better NBA career. The way Durant was taking Baron off the dribble on Wednesday shows me that he will be a scoring machine once he gets stronger.

Beasley. Durant is a one-trick pony that sucks at its one trick.

I don't see Durant having more talent then beasley at all. Durants body is going to keep him from really using his skills because he's so damn weak. You can get away with being weak in college because the players aren't nearly as strong or mature as NBA players. Also, they aren't nearly as long or athletic.

I wonder how many of you thought that someone would match Durant's rookie season this year.
I know I did, but I didn't think it would be Beasley. I thought it would be Mayo or Donte Greene.
Michael Beasley is a unique player. There really isn't a valid comparison for his game right now. Carmelo is a terrible comparison because Carmelo was a much better ball handler and perimeter player.
Michael Beasley is mature beyond his years in the post. And we haven't seen a guy more dominant in his first year in school in terms of points and rebounds since Wilt Chamberlain who ironically also played basketball in the state of Kansas.
Beasley has humongous hands and he's ambidextrous down there on the block.
Beasley is going to make an impact from day one in the league a la the 2003 class with Lebron/Carmelo.

I completely agree^^
I feel he can come in from day 1 and star, while putting up 15-16 ppg and 8-9 rpg, depending on how many minutes he gets.

I realize that, but Beasley is 19 as well, has all the physical gifts that Durant has plus more. Beasleys game is much more suited for the pros then Durants IMO.
Beasley can gain weight just like Durant can, probably alot easier to be honest. He is about as mature as a player can be at 19 years old. I hope it isn't true, but Durants body-type just seems like it would be very difficult to add not only weight, but muscle.

Durant. Beasley is going to be an incredible player, but if durant can balance his game out (which will happen in due time IMO), I think he has the skills to be better than Beasley. Durant's looking weak this season, but once he can develop a more consistent inside game, he'll be very good. It's clear that he has the skills already in his arsenal, he just needs to improve his decision making skills.
