If Beasley hasn't grown at all since his pre-NCAA measurements, then he'll probably be Boozer's build. He has a similar skillset with the jumpshooting, and I could definitely see them panning out similarly.

On the other hand, Beasley is thick and may have grown some considering he's only a freshman in college. He has shown rebounding prowess, and finesse around the basket. Can he continue to finish with the Brand-esque combination of finesse and power once he enters the NBA?

Who do you think he will play more similar to in the L?

out of the two i say he is more closer to boozer

I don't think he's that similar to either, but of the 2, I'd say he's closer to Boozer.

Not from what I've seen. People said Durant and Melo were the same too, you can't really make a good comparison until he plays in the NBA.

Melo displayed much better perimeter skills.


Out of the comparison, his game is more like Boozer. But man Beasley is one unique prospect. There isn't really a guy who he's even close to a carbon copy of.

He displays the ability to knock down a jumper every now and then but that's certainly the developmental portion of his game which is why the comparisons to Melo are terrible.

Beasley's forte by far is his ability to score in the paint.

Boozer. He's more similar to Paul Pierce though.

what? not even close..and Melo is different too, Beasley is not even close to being as quick as Melo.

I would go with Boozer though..they way they use both hands, plus the midrange and fadeaway jumshots they use often.

Bosh would be a similar comparison too...Brand is really unique, i think they play different.

Brand plays D... Boozer doesn't..

Brand can score... but Boozer can even more..

So if Beasly plays no Defense, then he is Booze

Actually, this is the exact thing that makes him like Carmelo. Strength in the paint, sketchy jumper to supplement his all-around solid perimeter game.

Melo is quicker and has more of the break down ability on the perimeter


Beasley takes 3s but he takes them off screens.


Melo is a guy who can take them after breaking down the defender.

He's also a slasher.


Beasley does better when he gets the ball on the block. Not taking his man off the dribble on the perimeter

Bosh is probably more like Beasley than Brand, Boozer, Melo, and Pierce. Imo, Beasley is more like Pierce and Melo than Brand.

Agreed on all counts but I think my point still stands.

Yeah when I watch him to me he seems like he moves like a big small forward. A big small forward who because of his size has rebounding ability. You get the lebrons, the carmelos who have that size and ability to score in the paint. Also have the ability to rebound and post up. Melo played PF for a while in olympics. Beasley in my mind is a unique prospect. I don't remember a freshman ever having such a season. He's having a better season than Durant and Melo stat wise. Aside from concerns about his speed and ability to slash like a melo, I;d say hes closer to carmelo than to Brand or Boozer simply because he has the ability to play the three where brand and boozer can't.
Although his long shot may be questionable (only because he doesnt settle for it IMO) I think if it does have any issues it can be added to his repertoire, Lebron had issues with his jumper and now its fine. Beasley at SF is an all star and possibly top 5 small forward in one or two years. Beasley at PF is more questionable.
