You gotta be kidding me.

Do you honestly think TMac is a better shooter than Arenas?

To answer your question, TMac has done more in the NBA since he has played 11 seasons. Arenas has played just 6 (ignoring this year).

Arenas has been the better player in his last 3 full seasons though.

talking about shoting, heres the percentage

this season 0,439 mcgrady and 0,390 arenas scoring 22 points game.
overall of all seasons 0,439 and 0,427 also scoring 22 for game.

How is arenas the better shoter? he is better in last minutes and thats why he is the most clutch player in the nba along with baron and kobe.

Arenas is a better shooter if you look at last year rather than this year when he's played all of 8 games ;)

Pace-adjusted per-40 numbers for each player over the last 3 seasons:

Code: Select all

mcgrady,t  PTS  REB  AST  STL  BLK   TO eFG%  TS%  PER
2007-08   24.1  5.5  6.3  1.3  0.6  2.8 .473 .506 19.3
2006-07   28.0  6.1  7.4  1.5  0.6  3.4 .474 .515 23.2
2005-06   27.6  7.4  5.4  1.4  1.0  2.9 .442 .494 21.9

arenas,gi  PTS  REB  AST  STL  BLK   TO eFG%  TS%  PER
2006-07   28.2  4.5  5.9  1.9  0.2  3.2 .484 .565 24.1
2005-06   27.9  3.3  5.7  1.9  0.3  3.5 .507 .581 23.9
2004-05   24.8  4.6  5.0  1.7  0.3  2.9 .498 .565 21.4

Arenas has averaged more points per minute with a higher eFG% and a dramatically higher TS%.

Id take Tmac overall, because I mean he is the better player, but Arenas is the better shooter by a large margin.

Prime T-Mac > Prime Arenas
T-Mac also accomplished more.

However, Arenas has been better last couple of seasons. T-Mac is changing his game and could be the better overall player again.

Shoter, not Shooter.

T-Mac is a better shoter than Areans, bar none.

NYU Arenas hasn't reached his prime yet! That's what you guys fail to understand.

Prime McGrady was compared to Jordan and Kobe. Pime McGrady had one of the best statistical seasons of all time. Prime McGrady was a top 5 player. McGrady has been a among top 5 vote gettes for MVP multiple times. McGrady is the easy choice over Arenas. The only thing Arenas has on him is one playoffs series win over a young and inexperienced Bulls team.
