If you could start a team right now; what pair would you pick
Lebron James and Kobe Bryant
or
Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen

Give me Jordan and Pippen.
Both are better than the other 2 defensively, and unlike the other two, a team of Jordan / pippen does more without the ball in their hands at all times.
Not that I'd be disappointed should my team end up with both of the other two overnight

you know he said right now, as in you are getting a Jordan that was worse than the one on the Wizards, and a Pippen that couldn't even make a comeback in the league when he wanted to this year.

Only an idiot would start a Team "RIGHT NOW" with Pippen and Jordan, last time I looked, they are OLD and RETIRED!

Pippen is playing overseas so I don't want to wait for him to finish his season there.
Kobe + Lebron

wow some inane posts on this thread.
The OP clearly meant you are starting the team right now, not you are picking the players right now, even if you could probably interpret it another way. The first response was ok because it was kind of a joke but I don't know why everyone joined in maybe they don't want to respond to the OP's question because they don't know the answer?

I'd rank them as
1. Michael
2a. LeBron
2b. Kobe
4. Pippen
So that's a tough one. As much as I want to choose Kobe and LeBron, you never pick agaisnt Jordan.

If I could trade Lebron for Dwight, Hedo and a couple of first rounders I'd take option 1. Otherwise, no thanks.

Kobe should be ahead of LeBron. . . if I had to make any pairing, it would be any two except LeBron. Mike and Scottie, Kobe and Mike, Kobe and Scottie. . . give me any of those and I'll be happy.

Talentwise Kobe and LeBron is superior than MJ and Pip. However, I'll still take the cornerstones of the Bulls Dynasty that won 6 championships.

Ignoring the "right now"
Jordan and Pippen and it's not even close .. People are again playing too much nba2K. You need complementary players in a team. You can't have 2 "ballhog" (or superstars wings if you prefer) in a successful team.
Failed experiment like Allen Iverson + Carmelo Anthony should have taught you that.

no. actually. only an idiot would think I was referring to the 40 year old versions of scottie and michael. Obviously I meant these 4 players in their prime playing against the level of competition "right now" (in the nba)
