Ive done this many times before the player comparison board has been here im not sure if weve ever done it on the player compairison board but im sure its been done, not recently so lets do it.

If you could hit the reset button on the 2003 draft what would it look like? This is just a fun thing to do to see how much different teams would be if they had a crystal ball on draft night. This isnt simply the best players in order its also based on team need and things like that.

What would yours look like?

What would be the most interesting change in team to see, for me its probably Chris Bosh being with the Detroit Pistons and how dominant they would be right now with him on the team instead of drafting Darko the bust.

i agree with everything, maybe barbosa in the top10 instead of hinrich or something.

Kaman could be a few spots higher but I think of him as a late bloomer. Melo could end up being lower in the long run but he was good off the bat.

I put Carmello after Bosh because Prince works well in the Pistons system and they could use a player like Bosh even though he is similar to Rasheed Wallace. Carmello is better then Bosh though in my opinion.

Imagine the Bulls with West instead of Hinrich though they would be nasty.

that probably would have changed the Ford and Villanueva trade too because that lineup right there is pretty terrible, at least they would be in the running for Beasley, he would improve that team big time.

Melo seems like he would have been a better fit with Detroit, sure he's not a big man but he's more of a system player and can actually move without the ball.

At the time we had Vince Carter, so I'm not sure of the Wade pick, but obviously he's the best of what's left. Maybe Wade would've convinced Carter to stay.

Don't see why you'd take Anthony over Wade unless you take it as a given that he'd get permanently reduced in value after an injury a few years into his career.

I can tell you why you should take Melo over Wade. The Heat have the worst record in the league and Wade has played all season. Melo at least has a chance of taking his team to the play offs in the western confrence.

Well Wade does not play with Iverson, Kenyon, Camby, and crew. Alexandro Johnson and Jason Williams are great partners, indeed. And he's been playing injured [that's an understatement].

I don't remember Melo taking over in the playoff's, I remember Wade spanking the Pistons and Mavs. Wade > Melo.

Lol don't even bring that up. Has Melo even won a playoff series yet? Don't think so. Has Melo ever won a NBA title? Don't think so. Does Melo have a finals MVP? Once again, don't think so.

Melo made it to the playoffs 3 times, and has managed to accumulate a 3-12 record. Very nice.

Good thing Detroit messed up for a lot of the teams. I think it turned out well anyways since Detroit won a title. I like it the way it was. It shows how terrible some scouts are and how good others are.

This is entirely based on today's team needs. To do this *correctly*, we'd need to look up every team's roster going into the summer of 2003 to see how today's players would have satisfied their needs.

^We had Mehmet Okur and Clifford Robinson, with either Tayshaun or Corliss capable of playing PF, as well.

Besides, I was talking about pressing needs TODAY, not in the summer of 2003.

I know you had them, but everything I heard out of Detroit at the time said that they were absolutely set as Prince being their SF of the future.

Don't really get why you're talking about the needs of today. Detroit of 2003 wasn't trying to maximize their 2008 team.

^Because, like I said, I would have to research EVERY other team's draft needs, too, and re-evaluate how my current mental draft-class rankings would fit in with those. Which is too much work than I feel like doing at this point.

Assumedly, if these teams drafted these non-bust players now, they could/would still be on said team today and satisfy some sort of need, today.
