just my opinion:

Bill>Wilt (I know most of you prefer Wilt, but I love Bill for his play)
Tim>KG (Tim is the best on his position all time...KG 3rd max)
MJ>Kobe (dont want to get into that again)

IMO

Wilt was better than Russell at his play, when Wilt settled for Russell's role. Even Russell said so himself. And then, there's the most dominant offensive force part of Wilt that just ends that debate.

Tim is the best all time at center? That is his position.

As i said, I wont argue against Wilt over Russel...Russel is just my all time favourite center.

If Duncan is listed as a PF, then surely, he would be GOAT PF but he plays the center position, no matter what's he listed on the roster list.

couldnt find him in any GOAT-Center list, whoch could meen two things:

1. he is really bad
2. he isnt a center

dont want to get to deep into that, because the thread is about something else, but if allstarballoting says so (for all years but this), if you play alongside rasho, robinson, willis or nazr, if can hit some 3pters in the shootingstarscompetition (j/k) and if you are listed in so many best-PF artciles (I only listed the ones where he was first ), then he should be considered a PF for career, even while I'd also say, that he plays more of a center role with the recent frontcourtpartners right now

With all due respect, this isn't that close. Russell beat Wilt repeatedly even when Wilt had equal or superior help (2 out of the three years Wilt played with the 76ers plus again when Wilt was with the Lakers!); MJ has proven far more about his ability to win championships than Kobe, and Duncan than Garnett. The Wilt team will look more impressive, the Russell team will win the championships . . . history say so.

Duncan didn't just played center this year, he did last year and if 82games kept their position playing time beyond last year, I'm sure it would show that Duncan played C for a long time now.

I liked the example a mod said before: if Steve Nash and Jason Kidd played on the same floor, are they not still PGs?

If Jordan was listed on a SF list, he would be #1 SF too but it doesn't mean he's a SF.

But a large part of Russell's success against Wilt was the chemistry developed with his teammates and his ability to utilize his role to the fullest. This would be a completely different team for Russell so I don't think you can apply Russell's success with one core of players to this.

I also don't believe Kobe or KG had a 2nd option has good as Pippen.

thats what I love most about the russel+duncan frontline: they seem to suit whatever they get as a backcourt...I would say the same about KG but in summary Wild+KG are not as good in that regard than the other lineup

for me it was pretty easy...if you take a look at the thread about the best 15 player (3x5positions) my first team was russel-duncan-bird-jordan-magic

Definitely Jordan, Duncan, and Russell. That front line would be fierce on both offense and defense, and TD and Russell could score in the post while MJ would be the big outside threat. Bryant, KG, and Wilt would be INCREDIBLE, but they don't match the balance of offense-defense that MJ, TD, and BR would bring.

Team 1 has a combined 21 rings with finals mvps. How many does team 2 have?

Team 2 could go off for a 181 points any given night.

Team 1 easily, Russell could guard Wilt. Duncan v KG is a slit edge to Duncan, and Jordan is the GOAT.
