Too early, the offseason hasn't begun yet. We don't know how good Yao Ming will be after his injury, and I don't know what will happen to the teams overall. This thread should be made near October 2008/November 2008.

LA for the simple fact that they are in a bigger market but Houston can't be overlooked, neither can New Orleans, Utah, San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, and maybe even Golden State.

I agree. I maintain that the Spurs are still my favorite to win it all. Until they lose, or suffer serious injuries...they have to be considered a favorite.

let's allow these teams to win a playoff round before proclaiming them favourites for next season

While I think the Lakers are the better team as well, what does market size have to do with who's going to win it all? I'm pretty sure the Spurs don't play in NY...

Hou has a nice little run until they win in the first round, why would anyone consider them favorites ever?

It's too close to decide on a favourite this year....there's 6-7 teams with a legit chance of winning it all, with none being clear cut better than the other.

There happen to be 28 other teams in the league. Between the two it probably depends on who can stay healthy. Houston with Yao and McGrady clicking like they were is obviously very scary. If Bynum can come back and produce like he was, LA is pretty scary.

Lakers will never win it all again. Hopefully Bynum will break his legs and be a cripple for the rest of his life.

I was thinking the same thing. The size of the market has nothing to do with winning or looseing, unless he was implying that the league decide's who's gonna win, with some of these insane superstar calls, he might be right.

why would houston ever be a favorite, they havent got outta of the 1st round with a healthy tmac and yao last time i checked and they havent made any upgrades to their roster, better yet, i bet all the teams at the bottom of the west are praying they get a first round date with houston this year, the lakers are a solid choice with kobe the killer, but i wouldnt say they have a better overall roster then the spurs, pistons, mavs, suns, or hornets

If you don't know anything about the NBA why do you post on this forum?
