If Seattle had picked Horford instead of Durant, Would Denver still have scored 168 points on them? Why or why not?

If Horford was a Sonic he would be injured right now.
Hope that answers your question.

If Horford was a Sonic I'd be pi$$ed because Durant will eventually be an unstoppable force in the NBA.
I'm way more pi$$ed at Sonic ownership, management, and coaching than Durant.
If ownership wasn't hijacking the team, management wouldn't have traded Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Kurt Thomas, and Wally Z.
As it stand now the Sonics are a skeleton crew, don't put this loss on Durant he had very little to do with it.
Durant went 8-12 from the field and 7-9 from the line. He attemped ZERO 3's, had 23points, 3 boards and 2 turns.
Not exactly a horrible line so stop the hate.

First of all, I never put the loss on Durant...
Secondly, I am not "hating" on Durant...I think he has a good future ahead of him...I just wonder if Seattle had selected Horford instead would Denver still had scored 168 points on them.
Thirdly, you mentioned his offensive stats for the game, but how was Durant's defense? According to the 168 points that was scored on the Sonics, surely his defense wasn't obviously terrific, as was the rest of the Sonics team...

Hmm sounds like you put the loss on Durant.

Well obviously the team as a whole sucked arse on D. This loss isn't specific to Durants poor anything. The entire team got blown out and even if they had Horford they still would have gotten blown out.

If it came off that way(putting the loss on Durant), I apologize...
Perhaps I should have rephrased my question: If Horford was a Sonic instead of Durant, would the team have played better TEAM defense with Horford manning the middle?

Hmm....well, if management hadn't traded Ray Allen, you wouldn't have Wally Z to trade, and if you had re-signed Rashard Lewis and not signed and traded him, you wouldn't have Kurt Thomas.
At most of those 4, you can have 2. Not all 4.

sonics are simply setting up for the future. they do have a bright one.
i think it would still have been a blow out. sure horford is better defensively but hes not a great scorer right now. no way he puts up big numbers in this game.

Horford had 14 points, 11 rebounds, 1 block shot in 29 minutes against the Nuggets in January...I think those numbers are more impressive the Durant's against the Nuggets...

Durant is still a kid folks.
This is coming from the guy who called him the black Adam Morrison.
Well I was wrong. Young fella has some potential. But he's gotta get committed in the weight room and defensively.
He also has to become a more efficient scorer.
Sure scoring 20 PPG as a rookie is great, but his efficiency from the field is probably atrocious.

As much as I think he was completely overrated, he is averaging stats close to what Melo was averaging his rookie year...but instead of leading his team to the playoffs, hes leading them to one of the most embarrassing losses in sonic history (outside the playoffs, nuggets got them there too!)
I think Durant will be a good player but just wont live up to the hype (would be hard for anyone too in his defense). And he better be eating protein all day, he is the skinniest kid I have ever seen. he looks like stravin marvin out there.

This is an odd thread. Sonics need a Durant more than a Horford, Hawks need a Horford more than a Durant.

...he would wear a green uniform in away games.
But on a related topic peoples main critisisms of kevin durant had been his shot selection. In the last couple of weeks he's got his percentage up, been taking better shots, and less 3's. Now people are straight on his defense (not this OP necessarily, but in general) or lack of rebounds etc.
It's always gonna happen, just give him a year and a half and i'm sure most haters will be starting to say how they thought Durant was never a bust and they always thought portland shoulda taken him blah blah blah
