Who was the better player? That was the year Shaq was pretty much healthy, playing in 73 games. Many felt he should've won MVP over Nash that year, leading the Heat to 59 wins.

Shaq just takes role players and makes them good players, takes good players and makes them superstars, and he is not guardable because of his passing ability. I don't really see why having less fouls is a good thing, I mean as long as it isn't around 4 per game, fouling isn't bad. Especially when you are a big man because you are making people pay for coming into the paint. If he averaged more offensive fouls per game, that would be bad because those are useless.

i think i'll take shaq because of his experience and leadership. but i think if dwight had the chance to play with someone like wade who draws double teams i might see it in a different way.

Shaq was better, but Dwight's had a phenomenal year. I'm eager to see how he comes back in 2008-09 as I expect even more improvement.

are we counting playoffs? cause he let me down that season in the playoffs..

I actually take Dwight, for all the talk about Shaq making his teammates better..Dwight is doing that too, players are cheating on him, leaving enough space for 3s..Orlando is one of the best 3pt shooting teams. The rebounding difference is huge.

Shaq was playing hurt that season in the playoffs. But yeah he wasn't that great. But for out purposes, let's just count the regular season, when 33 year old Shaq was healthy.

I'd have to say Shaq's impact was greater than Dwight's....But like someone mentioned, if the Magic had Wade, who knows how many wins the Magic would have and how Dwight's numbers would look.

There is no way Shaq made Eddie Jones or Nick Van Exel, for example (good players, across many opinions) a superstar.

Shaq was great during the regular season for us, but when it came to the post-season he was hurt, and didn't produce at nearly the same rate/pace as he did in the regular season, even missing crucial playoff games.

I didn't realize just how good Dwight's stats are this season, until now. Wow.
