Ok so check it out.

I was playing NBA Live 2004 ( don't ask. I like the GP ). So during my Dynasty Season The New Jersey Nets traded to get Ray Allen. Thus making their a NEW 3-Headed-Monster

SF- R. Jefferson
SG- R. Allen
PG- J. Kidd

Then it got me wondering if that line-up could work better than the Original Jefferson-Carter-Kidd. Instead of just posting this on the NJ forum, I think I could get a bigger response on GB.

So could this work better than the Original?
Explain.

Or suggest another Shooting Guard to play along side Jefferson and Kidd

I liked RJ a few years ago better. You know, when he would rebound, hustle, defend, even create shots for others.

I made an NBA Live 2008 Warriors team with Chris Paul, LeBron James and Dwight Howard...think they'd be better than the current Warriors?

Carter was considerably better than Allen during the big 3 era.

Yes, Allen spreads the floor much better than Carter. He also is a better defender and leader.

Find a New Jersey Net fan who would call Carter lazy and uninspired during the past 3 years. He's been among the best swingmen in the league (THE best his first year in NJ) - yet people (who have a personal vendetta against Carter) seek to bestow titles on him HE DOES NOT DESERVE during that time period.

He stayed on the court, while he was on the court he was one of the best/the best on it. How in the world was Ray Allen a better player than Carter at any point in the past 3 years? Carter was a better scorer, playmaker, rebounder, defender, he took care of the ball better... the list just goes on.

No, Carter is a playmaker, and was never lazy on the Nets. He still gets too much **** for what he did in Toronto. He didn't want to be there, if you guys had a job you hated, and wanted to get transfered, would you give it everything you had? Or would you do everything possible to screw your **** supervisor (the coach) and get out of there.

the nets would have been better if their big 3 was

SF- anyone who can defend and still hit an outside shot


and honestly who the hell thinks Ray Allen is a better defender than Carter? Atleast Carter has size and athleticism, Ray Allen is a horrible defender, and KG/Perkins are covering for him.

considering Pierce was almost traded that summer for a draft pick i could see him being traded to the nets for Jefferson, expirings, and picks.

The main reason the big 3 wasn't successful is the lack of bigmen .

The year Krstic had his breakout year they where the best . Sadly last year the blew out his knee and hasn't recovered before the Kidd has been traded .

hell no..Ray Allen is 1-D, while Carter is one of the best all-around players in the NBA..

this year has been the only off-year Carter has had as a Net, and Allen hasn't looked great himself..Carter carried the Nets for the entire year in his 1st year while RJ was out..

etopn23 is definitely correct when he says Ray Allen wasn't better than Vince in any of his 3 years in NJ. Also, anyone who thinks Vince's play has been lazy and lackluster with the Nets is truly a hater.

Vince's 3 years with NJ:

Year 1: 28 PPG / 6 RPG / 5 APG
Year 2: 24 PPG / 6 RPG / 4 APG
Year 3: 25 PPG / 6 RPG / 6 APG

Those numbers put him right there just below the top 3 SG's in the league: Kobe, Wade and T-Mac. Also some people will probably say that he's all numbers and no results. Well first of all think about the fact that his first year in NJ he carried a team with players like Jacque Vaughn, Brian Scalabrine, Jabari Smith, Ron Mercer, Rodney Buford, Jason Collins etc.. to the playoffs after it looked like they were headed straight to the lottery. Than his 2nd year the Nets won 49 games. Last year RJ got injured again for a lot of the season and he carried his team to the 6th seed.

Ray Allen has been living off 3 years where he was great (99-00, 00-01, 01-02), probably the most overrated player in the league. I mean for an "elite" shooter, his shooting numbers aren't too elite.

If the Celtics fall the blame will go on KG or Pierce, when they have played amazing, out of this world ball this year, and their other "superstar" hasn't been super in 6 years. Freaking Mike Dunleavy is a better shooter than him now.

No Why did they move this to the Player Comparison board? I needed more insight to my question. That's why I put it on GD. No one goes on player comparison board. Not even the people who post topics on PC board go to PC board. Awww.

Good insight though guys. I never looked at the Defense of the 3-Headed -Monster.

But is there a person who could fit it better than Ray Allen or Vince Carter????

Maybe it's because every three-ball Ray Allen takes is tightly contested, as opposed to people like Dunleavy, Kapono, etc.
