I don't know enough about Frazier to comment on him ...

But Pippen or J-Kidd, that's tough ... If I had to choose between both in their primes, even tougher ...

Even though J-Kidd is one of the best PG's of the modern era ... I have to go with Pip, he affected the game in so many ways ... One of the best man-to-man defenders I've seen, you have to be pretty special to be guarding Magic ... He also invented the position of Point Forward ... Pippen didn't have any weakness ...

Walt is the all-around best player, I am tempted to pick Pippen because he gets no respect and everyone just calls him MJ's sidekick, even though he was a star player and one of the greatest. I pick Clyde though, because he is a nasty PG. Kidd needs to play in a certain style of basketball to be most effective, and that style of basketball is not conducive to championships. He was a good defender though, but i think this is an unfair comparison to Kidd since he is being compared to quite possibly the 2nd or 3rd best PG of all-time depending on if you count certain guards as PGs, and one of the most versatile players ever.

You are too young to make that claim.

Bird was playing point forward in the NBA when Pippen was 14 years old.

And if some Laker fan wants to point out that Elgin Baylor was playing point forward when Bird was 2 years old, I won't argue.

Pippen, he was a terrific penetrator, defender, and great sidekick. I think he would be one of those players that can fit any team.

Walt was great, and considering I never saw him play a second of live basketball it's hard for me to make a determination.

But as for the claim that he's the better all-around player...maybe so, but it's not like Pippen was one-dimensional.

Ball-handling, rebounding, defense (team and individual), scoring -- other than his inconsistent jump shot, I'm not coming up with much that Pippen didn't do at a pretty high level.

This is a tough choice to make. Both Kidd and Walt are/were great PG's, but I think I'd take Pippen, largely because of his extra size and ability to play multiple positions and put up numbers right across the stat sheet.

Baylor? I've heard more of Barry as first in similar role, before Bird and Pressey, but as Lakers fan I won't argue. :-)

Yeah, Baylor, Barry, Pressey and Bird were something like the progression towards the point forward...

Though ostensibly you might consider Oscar Robertson another guy who was technically a point forward, given that he rebounded and posted like a forward and yet still passed like a point guard.

In any case, Pippen is the player who brought the role to popular attention but was far from the originator. Don Nelson is often credited as the coach who invented the point-forward role but this is of course incorrect if you consider Bird, Barry or Baylor the earliest incarnations.

For my money, I'm probably taking Frazier here. I like his defense, since he prided himself on doing it without hand-checking, I like his offense, his passing ability, everything.

Pippen's close but the major difference between the two is rebounding and if the team I have is built my way, rebounding isn't a huge concern out of my backcourt and/or swing players as long as they're not terrible at it.
