Defence? What Defence? Offense vs Defense.

Offense 101.

Nash/Arenas
Monta Ellis/Gordon
Carmelo/Turkoglu
Bosh/Jamison
Amare/Al Jefferson

vs

Defense 101

Hinrich/Rondo
Battier/Bell
Bowen/Prince
Garnett/Artest
Duncan/Camby

*Changed Deron to Rondo [a downgrade if I ever saw one] for the defensive team.

Who wins?

Defensive team. The offensive team can't handle a KG/TD/Camby frontcourt. not to mention if you put marion at sf instead of bowen the defensive team is probably better at offense than the offensive team.

Which is why I did not include Marion. In fact, I was on the fence of putting Deron in the defensive team, because I think his offensive game is worth more than his defense.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say a frontcourt that features KG and TD is the best two way frontcourt ever.

Deron Williams isn't a lockdown defender.

Yeah, switched Deron to Rondo [who isn't that great anyway].

Umn, the defensive team has a great offensive game.

Duncan is 20 ppg on 50% shooting

KG is 19 PPG on 53% shoooting.

And their both respectable some of the best passers at their postion [KG PF, Duncan C] so they can elevate a lesser offensive player to stardom.

At least change Duncan to Haywood. That's a straight up defender without anything else like Duncan.

I can't think of a diffrent PF

Getting rid of Duncan and Garnett [and subbing in Hortford and Haywood] would make this a walk in the park for the offensive team. You need some O to win with D.

I think the lineups are pretty even. Besides Garnett/Duncan/Marion/Prince, everyone else on that line up are borderline 10 ppg players. Garnett/Duncan are the only 20ppg players on that team.

Everyone on the offensive team is pretty much a 20 ppg player.

If they were real teams, the defensive team might be the best ever. The offensive team wouldn't be significantly better than any of the Nash-Amare Suns teams. At least replace Crawford with somebody like Kevin Martin. Jamal shoots like 40%.

Crawford and Dunlevey out, Monta and Carmelo in.

I'm not in the mood to compare the two teams, but I will say that defense, at least to me, is the more important part of the game. It doesn't matter how many times you put the ball in the basket, you wont win if you can't get stops on the other end.

The problem with putting Garnett and Duncan on the defensive team is you could arguably put them on the offensive team as well. So one of them should be switched to the offensive team IMO.

OK, without the dominant two way players, who wins this matchup:

ALL-DEFENSE TEAM
Marcus Camby
Andrei Kirilenko
Tayshaun Prince
Raja Bell
Kurt Hinrich

ALL-OFFENSE TEAM
Jamal Crawford
Jason Richardson
Corey Maggette
Antawn Jamison
Pau Gasol

I would take all offense because I've never heard of this Kurt Hinrich fellow... :D

no seriously tho i would still take offense, as u-borat said team defense would struggle to score. doubt they crack 20 points lol

Gasol really should be the center for the offense team.

Duncan's and Garnett's defensive powers are more important than their offensive powers, IMO.

But either could drop 40. It would be like putting Kobe (who has otherworldly offense, and very good defense) on the offense team.

Timmy is averaging 19 a game this season, and has a career scoring average of 21. Could probably score 40 once a season in his prime, can barely score 30 this season.

Garnett is getting 18 a game this season, and has a career scoring average of 20. Could probably scored 40 once a season in his prime, can barely score 30 this season.

Kobe is getting 28 a game this season, and has a career scoring average of 25 [including his first two seasons, which isn't fair to even include against Kevin and Tim as they both played much more in their first two seasons than Kobe]. Could easily erupt for 40 this season, and scored 81 in a gamed two seasons ago, and had dropped 50 in a few consecutive games last season.

Lets compare apples to apples, not oranges. Duncan and Garnett defense is much more important than the 18-19 points the provide a game. Kobe's [overrated] defense is much less important than his scoring abilities.

Kobe would look much more at home on the offensive team, where I believe Duncan and Garnett look much more at home on the defensive team.

I said put kobe on the offense team. But he is a dominant two way player, just like KG and Duncan are dominant two way players. They each can make a huge impact on offense, KG has 20,000 career points for crying out loud.
