Most overrated defenders
Who are the most overrated defenders, and the worst to make an all nba d first team?
Worst to make D first team- Larry Hughes
Overrated - (among casual fans) Amare because casual fans see his power blocks and think he's a great defender. Among all people, IMO Bell's defense is kinda overrated.

People may disagree with me, but I think Bruce Bowen is over-rated as well. He's not a bad defender, but he's not the defender everyone makes him out to be. The only reason he looks so good is because his "defense" is usually made up of grabs and trips and other sorts of stuff that never gets called.

Can you elaborate on how the latter two are overrated? Kidd, yes, I agree.
Baron doesn't bring the intensity enough, should be consistently the best PG defender in the league, with versatility to guard 2's and even some 3's at all time, but he has mental lapses, or perhaps laziness, and isn't always as good as he can be. He will let himself get lit up a lot, and sometimes will turn it on and make key stops, but sometimes at that point, it is too late. I think people focus too much on what he can be, and not what he is.
As for Marion, some advocate him as a DPOY level player, when he can't anchor a D, and he really doesn't guard any position particularly well, and was torched by any star he was put on. but hey, he got some steals and blocks right?
I also think TD is overrated when guarding the PF spot, though his ability to anchor a team more than makes up for it.

^^actually, both lack bulk and strength, and guys can get underneath them, move them off the blocks, or use strength to drive pass them.
You are right.

Last year was a reputation vote, but he's been very good this season. At least his impact on the Laker defense is indisputable this season.
