Texas + California vs. The rest of the NBA

Post#1 » by Hendrix » Fri Mar 21, 2008 10:47 pm

Texas + California

PG-Baron Davis/Tony Parker or Jason Kidd
SG-Kobe Bryant/Manu Ginobili
SF-Tracy Mcgrady/Josh Howard
PF-Duncan/Dirk Nowitzki
C-Yao/Pau Gasol

Rest of the NBA

PG-Chris Paul/Steve Nash
SG-Dwayne Wade/Allen Iverson
SF-Lebron James/Carmelo Anthony
PF-Kevin Garnett/Amare Stoudamire
C-Dwight Howard/Al Jefferson

Assume all players are healthy, and on top of their game. Which team wins a 7 game series on a neutral court, and what does the series go to? I mostly just used PER to determine roster spots.

Who you got?

Rest of the states.

PG's are better, SF's are significantly better, PF's are a push, and the C's are a push.

Also the rest of the states are deeper.

I'll take the rest of the states.

When Healthy, both teams would 2 players in the top 5 (Duncan, Kobe,LeBron,Wade) And i would take Paul-Howard-KG over BD-Yao-Tmac

Team Texas+California would win a 7 game series in 6 games. The 2 states have pretty much owned the league for the past 9 years.

PG's when healthy I give a slight edge to NBA. B-Diddy can be the best PG in the NBA on any given night imo but is a bit below.

SG-I think Texas/Cali has a distinct advantage here, and have the best 2 SG's in the NBA.

SF's-NBA is ahead here, but TMac when healthy and at 100% isn't terribly far behind LBJ imo.

PF- I'll call it a wash.

C-I'll call it a wash.

I got team NBA winning in 7, but it's suprising close mathcing up just 2 states against the rest of the States +Canada.

The rest of the NBA would win. They are more talented than California and Texas in every position except shooting guard. They are also deeper than Cali and Texas.

how is PF not an advantage for Texas and Cali if Dirk is off the bench?

Duncan is better than Garnett, Dirk is better than Amare. no doubt that they are better at PF

My first though was definitely Texas and Cali, although you don't exactly sneeze at the 'Rest of the NBA'...

You're right they have the advantage there, but I think it's a small one.

The gap between Kobe and Wade is smaller then the gap between LeBron and Tmac, when all are healthy. Tmac when healthy is a top 10 player. Wade when healthy is a top 3-4 player (probably 4).
