Tracy McGrady vs. Hedo Turk.(playmaking ablity)

Post#1 » by Baller 24 » Sat Mar 22, 2008 7:00 pm

I was arguing with a Magic fan on who the better play maker is...and if Tmac and Hedo switched spots, which team would become better?

So give me your response on who the better play maker is, and which team would be better if both players switched spots, and WHY?

t-mac is definitely the better playmaker, the only reason why hedo gets his assist is off of dwight's dunks. and if both players switched spots, the rockets would suck more than the magic.

He averages less assists and more turnovers a game - he doesn't have McGrady's handles or speed nor can he penetrate like McGrady.*
His court vision is nowhere near *T-Mac's.

He's just benefiting off of all those Dwight Howard oops - I think they have the second most this season behind CP and Chandler.

*Without that ability to penetrate it limits his playmaking ability.

The bolded part is beyond untrue. You are very much marginalizing Turk's playmaking abilities. Agreed that you have to take TMac here, assuming he will stay healthy.

McGrady..i laugh when Charles Barkley says Tmac is worthless when he doesnt score..Tmac is probably the best passing non-pg outside of Lebron.

Both are great playmakers, but T-Mac is better. Turk has been a good playmaker since his days in Sacramento. He would be a good playmaker even if Dwight wasn't on his team.

Healthy or not healthy, McGrady is the superior passer. When McGrady is hurt, you can take away his scoring ability but you can't deny his playmaking ability.

LOL! Ok I believe that T-Mac is not playing on a superstar level but that's too much. Hedo is playing with Dwight Howard and lots of great 3 pointers. He's a decent playmaker but he's nowhere near T-Mac's level. It's like comparing Kobe Bryant and Kevin Martin.

Its a lot closer than most think. Its probably Tmac, but Hedo's not far behind.

Hedo has an underrating playmaking ability...Hedo was a sight to see when he was in Sacramento. Running the Princeton Offense here and there....But T-Mac is overall better then Hedo...People tend to forget that, when T-Mac was on the Raptors, he was the Raptor's primary defender AND playmaker...Over the years, T-Mac was getting better and better in his playmaking abilities...So, Im not surprised that T-Mac is the best non-PG playmaker (Probaby James is better and few others)...

There really aren't any other then KG, if he is even considered, but its most likely LBJ, Tmac, and then on.

As you mention it, you are probably right...But there are players are great playmakers that are not PGs such as Kobe, Wade, Joe Johnson, and etc...Either way, T-Mac is probably behind James in this matter....
