Points, assists, and rebounds leader. I'd say 2 of the 3 would be very attainable such as C. Paul points and assists (if he ever tries for it) or someone like D. Howard for points and rebounds (if he ever gets more touches on the offensive end). Will anyone ever get all 3?

In 1 season? Not a chance. All 3 in his career? Wilt did that and it probably will never be repeated. 2 out of 3 in one season? Chamberlain did it with points and rebounds - 5 times! - and also with rebounds and assists in 1967/68. Nate Archibald - with points and assists in 1972/73 (Oscar Robertson is sometimes repeated as achieving the same in 1967/68 by misinformed sources that don't know that statistical crowns were awarded by totals, not averages back then).

EDIT: As to points and rebounds, Mikan could have had it before 1950/51, when rebounds started to be counted, and barely missed it anyway later, with seasons like scoring champion/2nd in rebounding (like Shaq in 1999/2000), or vice versa. But I can't see anyone else being tops in 1 year in 2 out of 3 major statistical categories, even such greats as Kareem (1st in scoring and 3rd on the boards in 1971/72) come up short. So you can see how close to impossible is ability to lead in 3 categories in the same season (LeBron? Duh!).

Points and rebounds are possible, though I don't think there is anyone in the league right now that could accomplish it. But I don't see anyone leading the league in assists along with points or rebounds, let alone all three together.

To put that in perspective for someone to do that this season they would need to average at least 31 ppg 14.5 rps with 11.5 apg.

Other than Wilt, has anyone ever even been top 10 in the league in rebounds and assists in the same season?

Russell. On several occasions. Other than him, that's it.

EDIT: And as far as the question goes, no. Wilt's the only player to have ever lead in all three at some point in his career, but no one will ever do it all in the same season. It's impossible.

First I thought it could never happen. Then I thouight about it again and if there was a year where the assist leader was in the 8 then there is a chance. The lowest amount to win the assist title in the last 25 years is 8.9. Larry Bird has come close to averaging 8 assist per game. In essence you need someone like Bird but more rebounding and passing. Perhaps a Dwight Howard with kg passing. Probably never happen but I wont say never. For it to happen you probably need the best players in the league to get injured to lower the amount you need. No one will average 31 15 and 12 but they might be able to average 27 12 and 8

it would have to be like a small forward michael jordan (super-lebron) on a really good shooting team in an extremely crappy year like 02-03.

Points, rebounds and assists? No. Even just points and assists seems very unlikely. I could conceivably see a super-dominant center leading the league in points, rebounds and blocks though. Wilt has probably already done this, expcept they didn't record blocks back then. Have any modern era players done it? Shaq put up 29.7/13.6/3.0 in 99/00 - he must have been close. Kareem maybe did it in 71/72? (he put up 34.8/16.6, but they didn't start recording blocks until 73/74)


Edit: just checked, Shaq won the scoring title in 99/00, but was 2nd in boards and 3rd in blocks.

No one in the league could realistically win it. LeBron would get the closest in relative terms, but in absolute terms obviously he isn't going to sniff 13+ rpg or 11+ apg.

I don't think Lebron has a chance... it would have to be a big man in the post that is surrounded by great shooters. Think Toronto's roster, but with Dwight Howard (add in passing ability) instead of Bosh. I am sure a big man on a crappy team will decide he wants to chase that, and considering it would add viewership to games to see if someone could do it, I think the best chance of this ever happening is on a team on a Miami Heat level of ****.

LeBron is amazing but he has zero chance. Nobody has a chance in my opinion. It's impossible.

If neither Magic, Wilt or Larry could do it? I doubt it.

LeBron is the closest to being able to do it.. and believe me its not very close. The league is different than it was in the past. LeBron playing when the league first started out, he'd probably do it every season
