King James, but the gap closed in ridiculous speed this year. We shall see what next year brings, but I still have to stick to the King

Paul is my MVP, but King James is the best player in the NBA..well, best in the regular season this year..I'll have to see how he and Kobe play in the playoffs, and of course there will be the usual Tim Duncan sighting at the top at that point in time..

Paul is a top 5 player though, which is a big jump from last year..

Chris Paul, how he is leading his team has impressed me more than Lebron's numbers.

Nope.

1.Bryant
2.Duncan
3.James
4.Garnett
5.Paul

I'm not sure he's better than Garnett.

LeBron, though the gap is much closer than it was a year ago. It's not inconcievable that Paul passes him, but it would be unlikely.

a couple of years back we were hearing the same kind of garbage about Dwayne Wade.

Will people never learn?

Chris Paul is a very nice player, and will be damned good for quite a few years.

On the other hand, barring catastrophic injury, before it's all said and done, LeBron will be mentioned with names like Wilt, West, Oscar, and Jordan. He's special, not just damned good. He's going to be one for the ages.

I'll be totally astonished if Paul ever gets within shouting distance of that level.

There are only two NBA players whom I'd take over Paul right now if I were building a franchise: Lebron and Dwight.

I love what Paul is doing right now and he's my pick for MVP this year. But year in and year out you can count on Lebron being a top 3 player for the next decade. Also, his durability and versatilty set him apart. He is rarely hurt and he can play four positions. He can make his teammates better with his passing, and then take over in the clutch with his scoring. Physically, he has more upside. And with his size, he should have a longer career.
