ESPN's Best Under 23: Which two?

Post#1 » by gswhoops » Fri Apr 4, 2008 3:33 am

Here's the list of ESPN.com's top 10 players under 23:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/stor ... er23-Intro

So, you can have 2 of those players to start a team BUT the catch is that you have to take the guys at the opposite ends of the list. So, you can choose from:

-LeBron James (#1) and Monta Ellis (#10)
-Dwight Howard (#2) and Brandon Roy (#9)
-Chris Paul (#3) and Andrew Bynum (#8)
-Deron Williams (#4) and Greg Oden (#7)
-Carmelo Anthony (#5) and Kevin Durant (#6)

Which pairing would you take?

Hmm, I voted for Paul and Bynum. That'd be pretty nasty. Bynum's a lot better than Chandler, that's for sure.

I'd probably take Howard and Roy, He's the got the best teammate and compliment of the big three in this list IMO.

Though if they swapped Oden and DUrant, I'd take Melo/Oden without thinking twice.

This is really tough.

I know I'll get flamed, but I don't think Bynum would be that good without kobe, or as popular outside LA, but with Chris paul, any good C could become great.

Howard and Roy would be devistating.

However, I voted for Williams / Oden. Williams right now is a top 3 or 4 pg, and Oden has the potential to be a top 1-4 center in the league. Hard to go wrong with any of these 2 though
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

damn, tough that lebron isn't paired up with a big. i think its down to the pairs with d12, bynum, and oden. i'd list them like this:

1. howard/roy
2. bynum/paul
3. oden/williams

Torn between LeBron/Monta and Paul/Bynum. Honestly though, I don't think I could ever pass up LeBron, period. He has a chance to be the GOAT, and nobody playing right now dominates like he does.

I actually went with Ellis and Lebron. These guys would make you run all day long and even in the half court would destroy you with their penetration.

You guys are highly underrating Deron Williams. He's just as good as Chris Paul. Oden is supposed to be the next big big.

It's between:

Paul & Bynum

vs.

Roy & Howard

I'll take Paul & Bynum because I don't see Roy as I'm not convinced of his greatness yet.
