Artest is a team cancer I am going with Odom

If I could count on Ronny to not be a team distraction, I'd go with him rather easily. He is a very good offensive player (though he does dominate the ball on occasion) and a shut-down defensive player. Lamar Odom is a very good offensive player and an average defender.

But, to answer the OP, would you be willing to take that risk Miller?
I don't think I would, just waiting for the next one personally.

It depends on who you surround him with.
If I'm a Spurs fan, I'd take Artest in a heart-beat. He won't be causing much trouble in SA with Duncan and company. Plus, he'll be winning so often that he won't have anything to legitimately complain about.
If I'm a Knicks fan, I take Odom, because Artest in New York would be a mess. All of the negative media attention, all of the losing -- it would drive him to greater depths of insanity.
For the record, as a Wizards fan, I'd take Odom because Artest is a bit too ball-dominant to play on a team with Arenas, Butler and Jamison.

Artest. Odom's inconsistency and passiveness is just as big of a question as Artest's character issues.

Miami's already got Marion. I'd rather have Odom.

artest's offensive superstar mindset it too much for me to handle. he's quite the selfish chucker.

He actually was improving on that for a while, playing within the offensive scheme and making sure everyone was involved. That is, until yesterday's game, where it became his personal rivalry with Kobe

I agree, it is pretty close especially with the way Odom has been playing of late.

If you need a SF, you go with Artest
If you need a PF you go with Odom
Artest is more talented and consistent but he can also be a distraction at any given time

I think it's important to note that while Ron certainly can be a distraction for the team, he also can have a positive impact on the team outside of just pure basketball skills. He is really a leader in many ways, including leading by example. His all-out all the time style can really be infectious in the best way possible.
Ron's biggest problem is his superstar mentality (although that's probably kind of an exaggeration) at times offensively. On the other hand, this is really only a problem when he's having a poor game offensively. But even then, you can always count on him to leave it all on the floor every game. The same can't really be said for Odom.

If you need an SF, go with Artest. Too bad he doesn't have his head on straight.

Agree 100%, you can't argue that he brings it everynight. You can argue that with LO.
