Which team do you think we'll have more success in the future? Both have young starting lineups with a big 4, and a dominant star PG.

I think the future of both teams will match those two's development.

I think the Jazz are a better team, but the Hornets will have better success, if that makes sense.

In the near future, Dallas, SAS, and possibly Houston will be on the decline, while the Jazz will have to compete against the Nuggets (who should atleast have Melo), Portland, the Sonics (Durant, Green, high lotto pick), and Minny (Al Jeff and high lotto pick).

Paul is better than Williams but Boozer is better than West. I think that the gap between West and Boozer is larger than the gap between Paul and Williams. I'll say that Utah has the better future. I wish they would learn how to play better on the road though. I agree with Charles in that they'll be better on the road in the playoffs. They were able to beat Houston on the road when everyone except me and Jazz fans doubted them.

Too close to call. If I'm forced to choose, I'd probably side with the Hornets as the Jazz post D is terrible. I think it will be their downfall in the playoffs.

I think Jazz have better future. I'm not expecting NO to have a better year than this. Jazz playing like crap on the road (losses vs clippers, twolves (2), heat, NY, Chicago for name a few tho are clearly under 50%) can improve a lot.
Right now they have better record than last year, and Deron is improving a lot every year. I believe in this team.

I really have huge doubts as far as the health of Peja Stojakovic goes in the future and he is a huge part of that team. Having a dead eye shooter who is as tall as he is who can shoot over anyone in the league is a great advantage as you saw in last nights game.

He turns 31 this off season, has shown real injury problems in the past and my guess is those continue to get worse.

We are not saying something like Karl Malone is the best player ever, or Deron Williams is the best player in the league right now...
We think Utah will be better team because they have great tools to do great things.

Agreed. Besides that Peja is injured-prone and I bet when he falls off (even moreso than from his MVP-like season) he falls off real hard. So CP, West, Chandler and...Morris Peterson? Bonzi Wells? They'll have to make a move to be better than DWill/Boozer/AK47/Okur/Millsap/etc

Let me tell you something. Utah is the 5th youngest team, in the NBA, and besides the Hawks, the youngest team to be in the playoffs. Most of the stars for New Orleans are already veterans on their prime years. Take David West who is 28 this year, Peja is 31, Mo Pete is also 31.

Tyson Chandler is 26, and Chris Paul is 22. Both of them haven't even entered their prime.

Carlos Boozer is 26 this year, Mehmet is 27, Andrei is 27, Brewer is 23, and Deron is 23.

So youth is a factor. Also the fact that the Utah bench is incredibly deep is a huge factor. You have Pargo, Wells, Wright vs. Millsap, Harpring, Korver, and Price. So deep that during a game that Andrei was injured last year, the 11th string guy under SF was able to post 29 points. Peja gets injured, and half of your outside shooting is over.

Also the Utah Jazz bench has the highest net points total in the NBA, and last time I checked it, they had a wide margin over a 100 net points about the Celtics bench. Utah has much unused talent that the leading scorer of the D-league comes from an assignment from the Jazz to the Utah Flash.

Now one thing that is important, is that you have to consider that both teams have stars on rookie contracts, and their outlooks might change dramatically after the rookie contracts are up.

Please, Hornets fans, participate and prove me wrong.

What are we supposed to do? Not participate?

We are the best people to ask and to present ideas and statistics about our team, cause we follow them for 100 games a season. Should we somehow exclude ourselves for participating in a poll discussion about it.

Plus, we are not being homers, and although the parameters that make one franchise to have better outlook than the other are dependent on easily tangible parameters, we can still post what we know, and hope that a Hornets fan can prove us right, or wrong, and we'll take it like a man.

Chris Paul is one of my favorite players, but I think the Jazz have a better future looking forward. West and Chandler are excellent pieces, but I don't know how many productive years Stojakovic has left in him, and Morris Peterson is a clear weakness at this point. I like Julian Wright, who has shown that he can be a solid contributor, but otherwise the Hornets really need to round up some depth.

The Jazz have a strong starting five with above average to great players at each position, and they have a pretty strong bench, getting solid contributions from players like Millsap, Korver, Harpring. They also have a pretty interesting prospect in CJ Miles, who's been pretty productive even though he's 20. The core guys are locked up for a while as well, I think.

I love the Hornets and dislike the Jazz, but I do think they have a better future at this point.

Here is a question, are the Hornets going to choke always or will they pick it up sometime.

Jazz made the finals those years and lost to the greatest basketball player ever to lace up a pair of sneakers.

The Hornets just went from having the #1 seed against the lowly Nuggets and an almost automatic advancing ticket to the second round, to facing one of Phoenix, Dallas or Utah in the first round.

Big game to not show up for an MVP.

id take utah's future and as much as i like CP3 i dont even have to think hard on this one. jazz just need to go out and sign a guy like diop this offseason and id say they're ready to win a title

plus they're pretty good at drafting too
