Melo because Butler is so injury prone... Butler has a better all-around game, but scoring just comes so easily for Melo it's like he can sleepwalk his way to 20+ points a night.

Melo in a landslide, and I really like Butler's game.

Injury-proneness not withstanding, I think Butler has the better all-around game, but Carmelo is way too talented to pass up, here.
Closer than some may think, but Melo wins this.

Scoring-wise and durability, Carmelo has it
But everywhere else, it goes to Butler
If I'm starting a team I'll take Carmelo
If I'm looking for an SF to slot in with other main players, I'll take Butler

I don't know how you can really say that so certainly though. Melo averages more rebounds than Butler, and isn't that far behind in assists. They shoot about the same from three, Caron averages a little more in steals. Overall though, it's not like there is a whole lot of difference.
Having watched just about every one of Melo's games in his career, I definitely think the stereotype that "all he can do is score" is way overblown. Maybe it's because he does it so well and makes it look so effortless, the other parts of his game go unnoticed. But really, he is one of the best offensive rebounders in the league, period....let alone among wing players(and his overall rebounding as gone up a lot this year now that he has decided to focus more on it, rather than leaking out on the break). His passing ability is very underrated in general....but he also doesn't get a whole lot of assist opportunities anyway, due to the role he plays with the Nuggets. He isn't a good defender, although I do think his man defense is very underrated(that is one aspect he is pretty good in).

I agree with this.
Scoring - Melo
(interior scoring - Melo / outside shooting - Caron / free throw shooting - Caron)
Rebounding - Melo
Passing - Caron
Defense - Caron
Looks even, but Anthony's advantage on offense supersedes Caron's advantages in other aspects.

Yes, I exaggerated some there, what I really meant was overall outside of scoring and durability, Caron has the advantage. I don't think there's a significant difference in rebounding ability between the two. Also, Caron has better emotional management than Carmelo, in relation to handling calls/non-calls, and technical fouls.
I should of been more clear.
I don't think Carmelo's just a great scorer, I've seen plenty of him, but outside of rebounding (now), nothing else is that notable from his game.

This is a tough one....but I'd take Carmelo.
Caron is my 2nd favorite player in the NBA, but you can't deny the talent that Carmelo has. I think Carmelo will mature a little bit and be even better then he is right now.
Okay it's tough because Caron is a leader, gives 100% and has so much heart. He has a few triple doubles this year, he is an ALL AROUND player. The knock on him recently is injuries, he cant seem to stay healthy this year at all.

Butler doesn't have a DUI
That's right, it only took me that long to go there

Oh I'm sure he's had much worse, from what I know he wasn't exactly a well behaved teenager.

The people who say that Butler is a better rebounder than Carmelo need to watch the games a little more.
Carmelo is arguably the best rebounding SF in the game today.
