Who's worse between Boozer and Amare defensively?

Amare is a far better shot blocker which helps, but he is soft down low. Both are terrible in their rotations, but Boozer can still put a body on a guy to keep him from getting to deep. You still see a lot of big guys trying to shoot jumpers against Boozer which helps his cause.
Boozer is also decent on showing high with the pick and roll which I haven't seen Amare do very well.
I would say Amare is a bit worse.

I'd say Amare, but I think he'll improve in time. Right now however...

Boozer is a better man defender. Both are poor help defenders, but Amare is a better shot blocker.

I think Amare's help D is better than most people think it is. He comes over from the weakside pretty quickly and protects the baskets vs. guards pretty well. He's just an AWFUL man defender, one of the worst I've ever seen. He lets his man go wherever he wants to, and usually fouls him when he realizes he's in crap position. He has no idea how to guide a player, or how to try to cut him off. He's a pathetic post defender as well.
Boozer is slower on the rotations, since he's a slower player. Since he's such a great rebounder (even better than his statistics- he keeps the ball alive so well for the other rebounders), he's more valuable in that sense. He's small, so he's a poor post defender for almost all 4s that have range in the post, since they can shoot over him at any point. As a man defender, he moves his feet fairly well, but also fouls the crap out of people, both on man and help defense.
I wouldn't say either is better than the other...just different.

Amare is definitely worse; I largely agree with BrooklynBulls. The big deal here is that Amare is one of the worst man defenders I've ever seen and that Boozer is better in that regard and better on the glass.

That was pretty much spot on with both players. Amare is one of the worst post defenders I've ever seen. It's really confounding too considering his quickness and athleticism, but the guy just refuses to move his feet on defense.

Boozer is bad, but he doesn't get bullied around necessarily and can guard players like Duncan, while Amare's team needs a blockbuster trade to be able to last on a 7 games series.

Both are horrible, but I think Boozer is worse.

Another really awful aspect of Stoudemire's defense is his misuse of his hands, he doesn't make use of them in an intelligent fashion at all.
