Which trio would you rather start a team with?

CP3, David West, Chandler or DWill, Boozer, Okur

for me this comes down to substantially preferring chandler over okur.

The Hornet trio for me. It might be close, but I'll build around the better young franchise player.

Paul is slightly better than Deron.
Boozer is slightly better than West.

Chandler > Okur on defense.
Okur > Chandler on offense.
So that's a tie.

But for me, I'll take NOH just because I have a preference for Chris.

depends on preference. chandler owes almost all of his points to paul but he still has the ability to attack the rim with and most importantly without the ball. paul couldn't set up all those alley oops if it was okur on the other end. i'd rather have my point setting up the center for dunks and layups and fadeaway jumpers.

I think I'd go with the Hornets' guys. Paul and Deron is a wash in my eyes, but I think the gap between Chandler and Okur is a lot bigger than the gap between Boozer and West. Plus, it's nice to have a big man that actually plays defense, ya know?

If you think Paul and Deron are close, then it's Utah easy, Boozer is significantly better than the rest of the guys, and it's arguable that he is the best player on Utah(not necessarily the most valuable).

Well considering that the others are somewhat equal
And since I think chris paul is better than deron, I pick the hornets

lol... No offense to anyone, but Mehmet Okur > Tyson Chandler. That is just it. People say his great defense. Consider that last year he had 7 game winning shots, 1 game winning blocked shot tells you clutch the guy is.

Carlos Boozer is better than David West, and just look at the numbers. Talk about Carlos Boozer struggling during the last 20 or something games, and he still has greater averages and David West.

Both Carlos and Memo have much much more playoffs experience, specially Okur.

Deron Williams and CP3 are much much closer than people believe. CP3 plays in a system which relies in the PG's prowess, and when he is not on the floor the team is dead. Assist to Turnover ratio is just sick for his league leading APG. He has a great set of players from West to Peja to stack him with assists, and the floater on the paint has become trademark shot. Deron shots more efficiently, but shoots about 2 or 3 shots less a game than CP3, which is quite significant, but the jumpshot, three point shot, and the physical drives to the basket make Deron a PG when needed can score over 25 Points per Game on Bruce Bowen. Deron will rarely ever lead in volume in any of the main statistics, mainly because the Utah system requires him to surrender the ball to a wing player, set a screen for another player, and then get the ball before he gets to start assisting.

Different system, different point guards, and although Deron Williams has picked it up since January, CP3 deserves this year the notch for his consistency throughout the whole year.

Overall, Boozer and Okur aren't as good as defensively on the lineup as the D-West and Chandler. However, David West and Tyson Chandler depend on Chris Paul, and Tyson really isn't gifted offensively, but rather athletic to get his points mostly from alley oops in which he leads the league. Both Carlos and Memo are excellent passers and Carlos has even had a triple double, and their size and offensive giftedness has brought them to be the most offensively efficient frontcourt on the NBA.

I have to go with D-Will, Boozer, and Okur.

No kidding to the comment earlier about the Jazz being underrated. Look at how flawed the results are. Deron Williams himself had 41 points, and also 20 assists versus the allas Mavericks, sorry there is no D in allas.

Okur over Chandler? Um, ok. There is nothing THIS season nor THIS playoffs that would give that indication.

If you want to go off in la-la land and act like his exploits 2 years ago mean anything, ok. But that isn't "just it."

edit: "much more" playoff experience is both a fallacy and quickly becoming a non-issue. Okur rode the pine to a ring with the Pistons before partaking in Utah's run last year. The same run last year which featured the playoff DEBUT of Carlos Boozer. West rode the pine in the playoffs several years ago, and Chandler came off the bench for Chicago. Neither he nor West have shown anything to make you think the playoffs are too much for them to handle.

Oh, and West's playoff numbers across the board are better than Boozer's this year. I have looked at the numbers. You should too. The other separation that exists between the two (regular season numbers) is becoming increasingly smaller, but some people are slow to realize it. West averaged .5ppg and 1rpg less than Boozer this year (yes, on a lower FG% - but not a bad one).

AS good as Deron Williams is, Chris Paul in my eyes is the absolute best player in the NBA RIGHT NOW. THe guy is unbelieveable. It's close enough between West/Chandler and Okur/Boozer than Paul gives the advantage to NOH IMO. I also think PEJA > AK47 this season as well.

Cosigned. Jazz fans seem to think we're dissing Williams. I recognize him as a young all-star talent who hasn't even hit his prime yet. But Chris Paul is already the best player in the game.

Indeed. Paul is great, but he's definitely not the best player in the league. He's not even the best young player - that award easily goes to LeBron. As great as LeBron is, he is actually underrated by a lot of people on this board. Switch LeBron with Paul, and to balance the team, switch Peja with an equally skilled guard (someone like Mike Bibby), and there's no question that team is the favorite to win it all.


Edit: in this comparison though, I would take Paul/West/Chandler by a hair though.
