The 1st round is not over, but it is clear that 4 players have been playing at a higher level than the rest while also dominating their opponent on the series
Who do you take?

cp3
superman? well, against the raptors, get 15 rebounds it's nothing.

I'm going with Dwight here, but all 4 have been outanding. Three 20-20 games in a 5 game series is just sick.

For the series I'd say Dwight.
I'd like to nominate Joe Johnson for best performance with the 20 point quarter.

I'm going with the Mamba. His clean sweep doesn't lie. Kobe has his rough patches of play but whenever the Lakers needed to close out a game he stepped up to the plate and hit a grandslam.

That's why everyone grabs 20 boards against the Raptors huh?

you should look at the rival, nuggets and raptors...... much worst teams than the mavericks, who actually cp3 destroyed them.
kobe first game was POOR POOR POOR. they won thanks go pau.

Howard wouldn't make my top 4..nothing against him, but getting dunks and rebounds against the Raptors isn't THAT impressive..if he puts up huge numbers against the Pistons, I'll be impressed..
Lebron pretty easily..he's getting abused all over the court, while the others in this discussion are playing against soft opponents..Kobe played against a team that plays high school defense..Paul played against an aging Kidd and Jason Terry(who isn't known at all for his defense)..Dwight played against one of the softest defensive/rebounding frontcourts in the NBA..

This is Dwight. Highest EFF in all the playoffs right now. The dude has straight up dominated. Can't believe people try to take away from him because he was playing against the raptors. You can do the same thing with everyone. Who the heck has kobe been playing against, keyon martin a PF? The nuggets are a team who doesn't know what defense is. Chris paul vs jason terry and kidd? are you kidding me they both suck on defense and the mavs have no interior shot blocker or great rebounder. Dwight would have dominated the mavs and especially the nuggest in a similar degree. Kobe, Chris paul, Howard, and lebron have all been impressive despite their opponents, people are pathetic trying to make it seem easy and less impressive.

2nd player in NBA history to have 3 20-20 games in a series. the other was Wilt.
3rd player in NBA history to average 23 points, 18 rebounds, 3 blocks in a series. The other two were Wilt and Hakeem.

dam, that is extremely impressive. yea d-12 probably takes this, altho kobe swept (his performance in game 4 in the 4th was as clutch as u can be), paul was spectacular, and bron is showing great maturity against a defense designed to play him physically...he's not settling, which is what i like.
Also a lil love for tony parker. i know the suns dont have anybody to guard him, but he played outa his mind in that series.
And yea jj's quarter was sick, especially against the celts defense.

I'm not trying to insult Howard, he's one of the best players in the NBA..but he was OBVIOUSLY playing a team that had no chance of stopping him offensively or on the boards..their coach isn't good enough to develop a strategy to beat him..the only big body the Raps have(Rasho) barely played significant minutes..the Raptors don't have a great rebounder on their team..they couldn't stop Orlando from penetrating and getting it in to Howard..most of his points were assisted and came off offensive rebounds against a team with no chance..if he does something similar against Detroit, I wouldn't have anything negative to say..
saying he doesn't make the top 4 is an exaggeration though, my bad..definitely not #1 IMO though..how was his performance better than Lebron?..

I thought CP3 was best in the 1st round, barely beating out Lebron. Howard was huge, but let's see that against Detroit.

^^^Welll, the Wizards are not known for being stoppers, so you can't use the arguement for weak defense againts Dwight but not againts Lebron. Lebron is getting hit hard, Dwight was doubled or tripple every chance they had.
I hate when they use the whole is not impressive because it was vs " ". I guess Kobe's 81 were not impressive either, after all, it was Mo Pete guarding him huh?

Yeah? How about games 3 and 4 against the Mavs? How did CP3 do?
That's 2 "poor" games for CP3 compared to 1 for Kobe.
I'll go with Howard or Kobe.

PER has Paul with a comfortable lead, efficiency has Dwight first then Paul well ahead of the pack. But you have to go with Kobe. He was just spectacular and his team swept.

It's close between superman and cp3... hmm.. I'll go with superman only because it's harder to do what he did.

+1
Others are playing against soft opponents and LeBron is playing against the annually contending Wizards
