easily manu. not because its "not even close", its just very clear. i'm not really sure what roy can do that manu can't.

Can Manu make as many defensive stops? On the perimeter against Joe Johnson on the post blocking Carmelo Anthony? Does he have the same play-making ability that makes other better? The same leadership and intangibles?
First of all I don't lke this comparison because Manu is a fully developed player on a championship team while Roy just finished his sophomore season (as an All-star none the less).
But I'm pretty confident to say that Roy, who is 23, will be better than Manu at his current age of 30.

arguably. manu is a very good perimeter defender. doesnt have the strength to guard bigger players in the post though.

yes. hes arguably the best playmaker on the spurs (competing with barry and parker).

yes, easily. as far as the regular season, he was clearly the mvp of the spurs this year. and manu is mr. intangible.

but i do agree that its not a fair comparison at this point. manu is a complete player with years of polish and success at the highest levels, both internationally and in the nba. but it is a pretty clear choice right now.

Manu, as clear as day, the blazers would be extremely happy if Roy ever became as good as Manu.

Ginobili now, but i wouldnt be surprised to see roy end up being the better player after its all said and done.

Manu is better now, but not by a whole lot. Roy is gaining fast and imo will be better than him within the next 2 years.

I'd rather have Roy because he is younger and IMO will be better than Manu at his age.

Like others have said Manu, that said given the difference in age and experience, this is a pretty lopsided comparison.

I'm biased, but this is what I think as well.

Manu is better right now, no question, but if you're a GM, you'd be crazy to take a 30 year old Manu over a young stud like Roy.

The answer is easily Ginobili, and it's not even remotely close, IMO.

Their regular season numbers are very similar, but Manu had much better percentages and was the third option on his basketball team, whereas Roy was the primary ballhandler and go-to option for his club.

Obviously Manu is in his prime and Roy is not, but I don't think people realize just how talented Ginobili is. If you put him on Portland instead of Roy, I think the team finishes with a better record and his numbers are much higher than they are with San Antonio.

I'm not trying to knock Roy - I think he is a fine young player - but Manu has been a winner at every level, and he sacrifices much of his game for the betterment of his team.

With Manu on the Blazers they might win no more than 5 more games. The difference isn't that great. Manu is a better shooter, Roy a better defender.

Manu. Roy will one day be as good or better than Manu. Roy can go on scoring binges just like Manu but only when the team needs him to.

There's only a handful of players who are more dangerous than Manu when he gets hot.

Brandon isn't one of them.

Not at all. Manu is one of the most underrated defenders at the two guard position.

and a 5 game difference is fairly big.....
