Which would you rather have on your team next year, a healthy Elton Brand (assuming your team physician gives him the green light) or Amare? Please identify your team as well as your choice and feel free to include salary considerations but assume that the value you have to give up for them is equivalent.

elton brand already played the last 8 games of the season putting up 17 and 8. he's healthy, there's no assumptions needed.
on the lakers i would take elton brand because of his superior defense. lakers don't really need more offense. also, with all the ball sharing needed, i'd be more comfortable with a veteran who is hungry to finally win at an elite level. amare is still at the "need to prove" something level.
now, if it was for more than next yr, i take amare. amare/bynum would be devastating in the future.

Elton Brand when he's healthy and not rusty. EB was a little rusty at the end of the year.

Elton Brand.
He's a comparable rebounder, a very talented scorer (not as prolific or as efficient but he gets down into the low post more and backs down) and he's a way, way better defender.

Yup. Elton. He is very solid on the defensive end and is a beast on offense when healthy.
