Chris Paul is the best point guard I have ever seen

Post#2 » by Awoooga » Tue May 6, 2008 3:44 am

Granted I was to young to watch Magic play in his prime, but I respect what he did for the game. However, I have seen alot of Nash, Kidd, Stockton but I have never ever seen a point guard like Paul. He can score, pass, defend and has an excellent basketball IQ. He always plays under control, does not turn the ball over and knows how to work the officials like an old pro.

The guy is 22 and he is tearing the Spurs apart offensively and not letting Parker penetrate. Kudos to the Hornets you got yourself a real keeper.

He looks like a Isiah Thomas in his prime and he's only 22.

Extremely impressive.

I'll go with Rafer Alston any day. You probably haven't seen Rafer when he puts the ball in his jersey and swings it around. And 1 son.

I don't think he can challenge Ervin Johnson because of his ability to play all 5 spots and the rings, but he can certainly challenge for anything under that.

I'm not ragging on Paul, I think he was the MVP and I would take him over Lebron or Howard if I was starting a franchise today.

He's been amazing. He had an amazing season.

That said, you can certainly argue this season for Paul was better than any season Zeke ever had. But to say he "looks like Isiah Thomas in his prime" is not a knock on anyone. Zeke was one of the best 6ft PG's that could also score to ever play the game, if not the best.

Question is, can Paul coach as well as Thomas? I think not!

I was too young to watch either Thomas or Magic in their prime...

But I can say at his best, the only PG I've seen play who is better than Paul is Stockton at his best. Certainly Paul is amazing.

Paul is not nearly as good as Magic Johnson or Oscar Robertson.

This brings up a real legitimate question. If you were starting a team today would you go with Lebron/Howard/Paul?

I'd go Lebron narrowly than Paul than Howard.

Lebron is to good and can play the 1-2-3-4.
