Definitely Artest. Both are good defenders, but Artest is one of the best at his position.

I like Jackson's leadership and heart but this has to be Artest. He is simply a better player.

It's got to be Artest, he's better on both ends of the floor.

Artest is a very good defender, but so is Jax. At one point, Stephen was getting serious DPOY consideration before him and Baron started to melt down. Don't forget the legendary defense against Dirk, and the suffocating D he played as a Spur in 03. I'd say they're even on D, even though Artest has the awards. Artest is stronger and quicker on O, so he can score in the post and get to the rim better, though Jax is a pretty good post up wing too. Jax is also a outside shooter IMO and playmaker.
As an aside, Jax has said that of all the guys he's shut down/guarded (Bron, Kobe, Wade, Baron (before they were teammates)), Artest was the toughest one for him.

Ron and pretty easily--especially if you don't have a really good playmaker to get Jack open shots.

Stephen Jackson is NOT a bad boy. He actually cares about the community.

What are you trying to say? Artest is does NOT care about the community? Artest is like one of the MOST charitable and people friendly in the Kings...

This is one of the biggest misconception about Artest that he is some thug that is close-minded and talk **** about the people...
