Deron on the Hornets. Paul on the Jazz. How much better or worse would each team be? Keep in mind the jazz play a different offense than new Orleans by which I mean all of deron's skills aren't free to show like pauls

Jazz would be first or second in the west, and the Hornets would be outside of the playoff picture.

Hahaha, I would like to see Paul set back screens all night for Boozer and Okur. Then pop out for an 18 foot jumper. Then play 82 games a night.

I think that both teams would be alright, though for various reasons things are actually more ideal as they are.

Both teams would certainly be different, and I am fairly certain New Orleans would be worse, but I am less certain Utah would be. They'd be different, they might be worse, might be different but about the same, or might be different but better.

Deron is a possible HoFer who is blessed to be in a asystem that suits his strengths.
Paul is a possible top 5 PG of all-time who would excel in any system at any time.
The window of possible outcomes would be "as good or worse" for the Deron-led Hornets, and "as good or better" for the Paul-led Jazz.

There is no way you could label Deron Williams as a possible HoFer already. No NBA first teams, no record, no rings, no accomplishments whatsoever, never been a top 5 player.
Paul has had one amazing season. That doesn't warrant calling him a future HoFer or top 5 PG all-time. Not yet.

Those "jumpshots" by Paul aren't jumpshots as we would normally think of them. They're more like floaters and inside jumpshots than mid-range and long distance jumpshots. Deron has considerably more range than Paul.

I think the Hornets would be just as good because Deron can do nearly everything Paul can do plus give his team some more defense, toughness, and range. The Jazz would be much worse because they're system is built around having all five players with shooting ability and the physical strength/toughness to set picks and screens for any other player. Paul maybe better but he can't do what Deron can do.

Paul consistently shoots (and makes) plenty of shots from just inside the arc. Just because ESPN chooses to show the floaters doesn't mean that they're his only means of scoring.

This is true, Deron does have more range, but let us look at what their hotzones say about their shooting:
Paul:
289 attempts (3.6/G, 22%) from long mid-range 45.7%
249 three's (3.1/G, 19.2%) 36.9% 3PT
Total: 538 attempts, 50.1% eFG
Williams: 328 attempts (4/G, 29%) from long mid-range 44.8%
210 attempts (2.6/G, 18.8%) 39.5% 3PT
Total: 538 attempts, 50.5% eFG
Yes, Deron is a better 3PT shooter, but in long mid-range there is minimal difference between them, and Paul actually shoots better.
