Strongest group of ringless players

Note: Not projecting for future championships. Leaving out the real young guys (Bron, Paul) and pretending KG does not win a ring this year

In 20 years time, what group of Ringless players do you feel will be looked back upon as the strongest group and the group who's legacies would be higher were they not overshadowed by other superstars.

The Held-down by MJ Group:

Charles Barkley
Karl Malone
John Stockton
Patrick Ewing
Reggie Miller
Dominique Wilkins
Shawn Kemp/Gary Payton

The Held-down by Shaq and Timmy Group:

Kevin Garnett
Dirk Nowitzki
Steve Nash
Tracy McGrady
Jason Kidd
Allen Iverson
Chris Webber

Malone, Stockton, Barkley, Ewing...that's 1/4th of the Dream Team. That may never be topped.

Although KG may eventually be looked at the best player of any of guys lists to never win a ring.

My 2 cents: The Jordan group is stronger, but not as strong as the one I picture in my mind. I tend to think of Portland-era Clyde Drexler and prime David Robinson as members of that group as well. Technically however, they both won rings (not as the main guys).

The second group has a chance to add alot to their legacies numbers-wise and rings-wise (which would eliminate that player from the group). I don't think it's likely that TMac, Kidd, Nash, and Dirk will be looked upon as better than Malone, Stockton, Ewing, and Barkley by the end of their careers - but there is still time for that to change.

Dominique was held back by Bird, not MJ

you can also add Moncrief and Gervin to the Magic/Bird list as well (and to a lesser extent: King, English, Blackman)

Fact check yourself David Robinson was still the main force on the Spurs when Timmy won his first title.

To me it seemed more like they both shared that honor of being the first option. Though man, their defense was tenacious. Don't think I've ever been scared to face a team as much because of their defense.

Wrong, while David Robinson still had a solid season of 15/10/2.4, Duncan led the way with 21/11/2.5.

That was Duncan's team.

The OP talked about groups of players, though I agree as to this: Elgin Baylor is the best single player to never win a ring.
