These guys were considered to be the second tier SF's (behind durant) rank these rookie small forwards.

Young and Wright have star potential

To be honest I really don't watch many NBA games beside my Sonics. So I can't really speak for the rest of these guys but I do think Green will turn into a very nice player.

The biggest thing he needs to work on is his consistency on offense. His shot is a little shakey but the last third of the season he was shooting his jumper with a lot more confidence.

I actually think after this coming season Green will be a PF and Durant will move from the SG to the Small forward.

I look at a guy like David West and think why can't Jeff Green do what he did? West is 6'9" and didn't really have very much range on his jumper when he came into the league from Xaiver. Take a look at West stats his first two years in the league. They were nothing to get excited about.

Green has more range now then West did as a rookie. Has better hops, a much better handle and he's a very good passer too. Typically, at least once a game, he'd make a play where it would make you get excited for the next season because this season was painful.

Bottom line Green has all the tools to be a star in the league it is just going to take time and hard work to make it happen.

I think all 4 (Sorry Brewer) have a pretty good chance of becoming stars in the NBA. They just need to put it together, they all have the skills.

I think the term "star" is used way too frequently.

I see them all becoming very good players. Brewer will be below the rest because of his offensive deficiencies

Young- The one with the most potential IMO. I see him as a bona fide star in the mold of a Pierce/RJ offensively, with Pierce's range.

Wright- I don't ever see him being a polished offensive threat, but I see him as a mixture of Josh Smith/T.Prince/Shawn Marion

Green- To be honest, I haven't seen much of him this season except for a couple games and SportsCentre highlights. His versatility is very intriguing and I see as Antawn Jamison with much better handle/playmaking...Basically Jamison/Butler together

Thornton- This guy is a beast. He has amazing athleticsm and attacks the basket with force. He's already 24 (going on 25) but he can do damage right now as evident in his rookie season. Maggette with a better jumper/handle is what I see him as.

Brewer- Haven't seen much of him either this year, but his stats weren't great. Best case for scenario I see for him is Gerald Wallace type without the offensive attack. Kind of Wallace meets Prince without the jumper.

Of course, these are all best case scenarios I see them as, if they reach their full potential. They might even surpass them if they really do exceed expectations. BTW the order of how I listed them represents who I think will have the best careers in chronological order. Though, I kinda flip flopped on Wright-Green.

Well, David was about 12 pounds heavier, and had 4 inches or so of standing reach, he's a stronger post player.

That said, I think Green actually has more upside, but he's a different mold.

He's a cool cat too, I'm rooting for him, dude gave me his wristband at a Hornets game, the rest of the Sonics didn't give ****.

I think Wright and Young clearly have the most upside of this group, I had both as top 5 overall prospects in the draft.

Don't forget in West's first season he barely got playing time. Don't think he even averaged 15 minutes and in his 2nd season he was injured for most of it.

no love for Wilson Chandler.

West has a 9'.5" standing reach. Jeff Green has an 8'7" standing reach. That's a huge difference. Julian Wright is better sized for PF than Green.

I agree with the OP's list..it's pretty much spot on.


However I think all of them will be at least solid with the top two having the most upside.
