If you could step into the career of either of these guys whose would you choose?

Have to take Horry, the rest of your life would be so much better if you were winning championships. Despite Malone's achievements, he had to have had an unfulfilling career.

You have to wonder if the pinnacle of Malone's career was the DreamTeam.

This is one of the best polls ever. I'm going to have to ponder this one for a while before I vote.

The championships are a big deal but at the end of the day, it's about being the best player you can be and maximizing your potential and that's much more the Karl Malone story.

its tough, malone will be remembered forever but since horry's hit so many big shots he'll be remembered too

they both have lasting legacies but for different things, one is a top 3 PF of all time while the other has 6 (is it 6) and the chance for more

He also enjoyed playing with 3 of the greatest big men of all time, and where all btw took down Karl Malone's Jazz on the way to the finals. Rockets- Hakeem, Lakers- Shaq, and Spurs- Duncan.

Malone, for sure. Second all-time leader in points scored, a couple of Finals appearances, a long history of playoff appearances and postseason success, a couple of MVPs, a couple of All-Star MVPs, a crapload of money made...

No title but damn, that'd be a fine career.

Horry.....the man show never made a mockery of him.

Anyway, I'd much rather have been Malone. Every win he got he earned a huge part of it, Horry is only where he is because he was lucky enough to play with people considered the best big man in basketball for the better part of 16 years.

At the end of the day, would you rather know your career is based on what you did, or what other people who were better than you did?

Call me an opportunist, but for me clearly Horry. I would rather be an indispensable sidekick with a LOT of rings than a superstar with NONE. Of course, Horry profited from Hakeem, Shaq/Kobe and Duncan, but Horry hit so many hyper clutch shots that he legitimately earned at least 6 of his 7 rings.

Also, look at the dough, Horry is not shabby either. Horry earned 54.1 million dollars salary, more than half of Malone's 106.5 million, which is a joke considered Malone is easily three times the better player. I take 7 rings with 54.1 million bucks, and dozens of YouTube-worthy moments.

EDIT: also know that I am a Dirk fan, and it was SO PAINFUL to see Dirk crashing out after winning the MVP, and that superscrub FRANCISCO ELSON from our enemy country Netherlands walk away with a ring...

Both have had careers of significance, each in different ways - but I'd take Horry's route.

Sucky indeed, but at least she is alive, something Lamar Odom would be grateful for...

To put this discussion back on the hardwood, I still take Horry's career for reasons mentioned. 7 rings, that is Celtics-esque. Sidekick or not, even Kareem or Jordan could not do that!

Malone had a better career but Horrys was both more successful and more exciting, gimme big shot bob
