Who would choose and why?

Maybe I am a homer but give me Sasha. Kapono is the best set up 3pt shooter bar none but Sasha is no slouch either. However, Sasha plays hustle defense every second he's on the floor. Most come off the bench 3pt shooters are liabilities on the defensive end but Sasha isn't.

i'd say sasha too. Jackson put him on the floor in the final moments due to his D and intensity

greg buckner>sasha vujacic.

kapono has proved that he can play in a poor situation.

Maybe your a homer?

Anyways, I would also pick Sasha his defense is stifling. Kapono's is sometimes non-existant.

Sasha is a pretty nice piece, he can do a lot of things you want from a role player. Kapono is a bad ass shooter, but I'll take Sasha.

Kapono is a better shooter, but Sasha plays defense

Vujacic was the definition of a scrub, a laughing stock, and on the verge of being kicked out of the league before this season

Give me Kapono easily.

key word is was. way to live in the past. sasha is a top 3 point shooter himself and plays very good defense. kapono plays zero defense. his shooting isn't good enough to make up for the difference.

I'll take Sasha. He is the more complete player, while Kapono is just a shooter.

I hear IBM is working on developing a program that mimics kobe's skills. The Machine is waiting for the upload of that program.

Kapono kicked some major ass in the play-offs.

PPG: 15.6
FG%: 58.5
3FG%: 54.2

Sasha's awesome "hustle" defence. Indeed.

Lakers D with Sasha on the court: 112.3 points per 100 possessions against.
Lakers D with him on the bench: 103.6 points per 100 possessions against.

That is a whopping 8.7 point difference, which is huge.

On top of that, 4 of their 5 worst defensive 5 man units include him.

You'd think the Lakers would be better defensively with such a stifling defender on the court, and not massively worse.

Tell Sasha to take that thong off his head and go back to the D-league. Kapono is by far the better choice. You guys are fools to think that Lamar, Gasol and Kobe aren't the sole reasons why Sasha is even remotely useful on that team. They draw the D, Sasha gets an open look. I wonder if Kapono could do that? Gimme a break. If Kapono and Sasha traded teams we wouldn't be having this discussion. Thanks for coming out.

Yeah, after thinking it over, I could probably be swayed either way. I think if I were building a team, and needed a role player, I would take Kapono though, because I would have a monster in the paint, and Kapono would just snipe from the 3 point line for like 75%.

Defensive stats like that are worthless. At least you didn't use that silly opponent PER stat.

If you watch him play you can tell he is a pretty good defender. He's not a shutdown guy by any means, but he pulls his own on defense.

His "career year" consists of 9 points 1 assist and 2 rebounds while shooting 45%, quite impressive if you ask me

I never had heard of Sasha's great defense before this series.
