2003 is filled with crazy potential/talent, to bad some of the guys haven't lived up to it, but still I'll take 2003.

With everyone in their original positions:
LeBron>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bibby
Healthy D-Wade=Healthy VC IMO
Melo<Pierce?
Bosh>Dirk
Kaman>Miller
Bench:
TJ Ford>>>Jason Williams
Barbosa>Hughes
Howard>Lewis
West>Harrington
Milicic<Nesterovic
2003 by a fair margin.
1996 and 2003 is a closer comparison, both classes were loaded.

How is Bosh better than Dirk???

2003.
Very few drafts could usurp 2003...1984 and 1996 at a pinch.
1996 can't really put together a 'draft year team' 2003, IMO:
Nash, Kobe, Allen, JO, Z? AI?
Retrospectively, 1984, you are looking at Stockton-MJ-Barkley-Hakeem. That would go close.

2003 of the starters
Hinrich > Bibby
Wade > Carter
LeBron > Pierce
Bosh < Nowitski
Kaman > Miller
Hinrich and Kaman being better is a bit more dicey than the other three but since they are the 4/5 scorers on their teams and both are best as shooters, while Hinrich and Kaman bring more in the way of defense and rebounding respectively, you have to give it to 2003 everywhere but at PF and Dirk's not even the best player on the floor, LeBron is. (OP asked only about starters, but reserves for 2003 are also better everywhere but at C)

Why are people talking about 96 or 84?

If you're gonna take drafts not mentioned, I'll take 1984 against all comers, and wipe the floor with them.
C) Hakeem
PF) Barkley
SF) Kersey
SG) Jordan
PG) Stockton
For my backups, I can choose from among many All-Stars or very good players, like Kevin Willis, Michael Cage, Otis Thorpe, Sam Perkins, Alvin Robertson, etc.

Raptor fans are hysterical!
Dirk is on a higher level than Chris Bosh. He couldn't even guard Rashard Lewis and god forbid, Dwight Howard. Instead of thinking of him as an elite level PF/C, see him as what he is. A nice 2nd or 3rd option, depending on how far you guys want to go.
A soft, jumpshooting, non rebounding, non defending big man. NICE...and all he has to do is jump higher than Rasho Nesterovic or Andrea Bargnani (or Kris Humphries). Still going to excuse that by saying he "lets" the guards "steal" his rebounds?
Chris Bosh has
nothing on Dirk Nowitzki. Dirk is a 1st option, leader, and a top player in this league. Chris Bosh isn't...get over it!

Also, Vince Carter is not = to Dwyane Wade.... Raptor fan much?

Bosh is a good rebounder but everything else I pretty much agree with.

In my opinion he's better. Dirk has shown me that he's weak mentally and a choker. Skillz23 just made one of the dumbest posts I've seen in a long time. How do you call Chris Bosh a soft, non-rebounding big man when comparing him to Dirk? Wow. Chris Bosh is an excellent rebounder, and a very good scorer. Dirk is the biggest choker I've seen in a long time. How does a loaded team like Dallas go all the way to the finals and lose 4 games straight after having a stranglehold. If Dirk was such a great player he would've done something about it. Then, he loses in the first round to the 8th seed? Wow. I can't beleive people can call themselves real basketball fans when they don't even watch every team. Chris Bosh is by no means soft, he's one of the leading free-throw attempt guys in the league.
NO-KG-AI wrote:Also, Vince Carter is not = to Dwyane Wade.... Raptor fan much?
I agree D-Wade is better than VC but I was afraid whiners like you would complain and say how great VC is like the man's god or something. By the way, even though I don't complain about VC anymore; wouldn't a Raptor fan give VC the short end of the stick? Think about it
mod.
