both teams won 70 games during the regular season..perfect chemistry, solid role players..game 7..no homecourt advantage..everyone is healthy..the game is at a neutral site..there are no mismatches..the game comes down to both team's big 3's..skills/talent, basketball IQ, leadership, intangibles and everything combined of the 6 men..who do you take in game 7?..

team 1: Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Kevin Garnett..
team 2: Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Tim Duncan..

which team would you prefer to have in this situation? assume there are no mismatches and the role players and coaching is even on both sides..this is only based on the 6 guys and the criteria I named..

Assuming full health (which is tough with Wade) team 2 at the moment. Those three are the more proven winners on the higher stage.

LeBron is IMO right up with Kobe as the best player in the NBA, and seems to elevate his game when he plays Kobe AND in big playoff games(this year's game seven and "GAME FIVE"), so it will be interesting to see what he does in this situation. When healthy, D-Wade is probably the third best player in the NBA, with CP3 right after him. After that fall KG and Duncan, who are IMO pretty even. Both can rebound the ball exceptionally well, score in bunches, and anchor a defense. KG is better to run the offense through, but I think Duncan could be a better third option. His post moves make him very difficult to guard one-on-one. Also, Team 2 is loaded with amazingly clutch players, while Team 1 has Kobe, a guy in Paul who hasn't really been there enough, and someone who, although possibly undeserved, has a reputation as a choker(although I wouldn't say he's super clutch).

Obviously team 2. Kobe has little help from Paul. Dwayne and LBJ can both create their own shots and go for heavy numbers each day while mister Fundamentals takes care of the post well enough. Paul is a mismatch in the team, even though you are saying there's no mismatch. Without knowing other players, that's all that can be said, Team 2.

If D-Wade is 110%. . .then team 2

If D-Wade is 90%, team 2. Because of a guy named Tim Duncan. A Tim Duncan vs. Kevin Garnett match-up would be cool.

I like team 1


Team 2 has no PG and 2 very TO prone players. I believe Paul can make his team more effecient and they can get a larger portion of there baskets in transition or ungarded.

Im just not sold on having 2 SG/SFs wing ISO players on the same team especialy when neither is a good outside shooter or defender.

Tough, I take Team 2.

I love Paul, but there's your biggest difference.

Kobe and LeBron are basically equal, Duncan and Garnett are about equal at this moment in time as well. A healthy Wade, though, was up there with Kobe and LeBron as the very best player in the NBA and more clutch than both. So if he's healthy, he's probably a little better than Paul now, who's not seasoned enough.

Weird that it comes down to such a small different but there you have it, IMO.
