Alonzo Mourning vs Shawn Kemp, who you got?

This has got to be a joke, and this is coming from a guy whose favourite team was the Sonics growing up and has always hated Zo-featured teams.

Really though, imagine putting Zo of '98 on the NBA Finals Sonics. They could have won that series with that kind of upgrade.

Please!! Did you see Kemp on that Sonics team? He abused Dennis Rodman. He averaged over 23 and 10 in that series. What did Alonzo do when playing the Bulls in '96 and '97?

I'm not saying Kemp in himself is better, but to say it is a joke when Kemp performed far better against the Bulls than Zo did is what is senseless here.

Give me Zo.

The Reignman was much more fun to watch though.

Tough one, you got one of the biggest, strongest, and intelligent defenders, also a terrific scorer in his prime against a player that was an all rounded upgraded Dwight Howard on offense in Kemp. I'm going with Kemp, I think if you put him next to a great center he could of won a ring. Kemp was just a terrific player down low, very athletic as well.

Yeah, not very close. Zo, pretty clearly.

Zo was obviously the better defender. No questions asked.

But on top of that you could argue he was the better scorer (though a very ugly game) -- averaging more pts, higher fg%, and being more of a traditional big man. At the very least they are comaprable on offense.

First of all, this is a really bad comparison as Kemp was a PF/SF whereas Alonzo was strictly a C. These guys guarded different positions and went up against players at different positions.

Zo is the overall better player though.

The one with less children.

You got to take Zo, though not as exlosive offensively still a first option in the post and could anchor your team's defense.

Wow, it's that time of year again? It's seems like every quarter year this exact comparison pops up, and always ends the same way; comparable players offensively (with reignman being much more aesthetically pleasing and more explosive) but not comparable on defense (with Zo being one of the better defensive players in the league at that time).

This has to be like the 6th time JordanBulls has brought out the same comparison.
