Brandon Roy.

Good defender at 1 or 2, good passer, good shooter and slasher.

Right now, Kirk Hinrich.

Camby for Hinrich, get it done.

Somebody who doesn't need to handle the ball to be useful, and who can rebound the shots Iverson misses.

I.e., Bill Russell or Moses Malone.

Among less godly players, Reggie Miller wouldn't be bad, because of his greatness without the ball in his hands.

JJ is a decent choice if you play AI at the point, although I like him better off the ball which means pairing him with a larger pg.

Chauncey Billups - he's big/strong enough to defend most 2 guards, can space the floor with his outside shooting and is capable of orchestrating an offense and keep the ball moving. He's sorta like Eric Snow on steroids.

For role players, a prime Eric Snow was just fine for AI. For today, you need a big, defensively strong, athletic 1/2-guard, which makes Hinrich or Billups good.

Present-day backcourt mate has to be Kirk Hinrich. Has the handles to play some point and take pressure off Iverson. Big enough to guard either spot physically. A good spot-up shooter, even from distance, to supplement Iverson's mediocre shooting. He's a good fit. I think its most important to hide Iverson's deficiencies and then fill out the rest of the team. You'll wind up with a great squad that way. But just sticking him on a team with other stars like Melo and Camby won't do much for his game or his team.

Ideal complements to Iverson--historically speaking--include Wondrous Willie Wise, Walt Frazier, and Elvin Hayes.

I assume he means perfect compliment in the back court, so someone like Hinrich.

David Robinsion, Mourning. Someone like that. Russell if you want to go no bounds.

Backcourt... how about Brandon Roy?

All time? Bill Russell. A guy who can rebound, and be a presence in the middle to compliment AI's gambling defense. Russell doesn't need the ball a lot on offense. AI would probably play the role of Sam Jones on a Russell team.
