Re: Duncan/Manu vs Yao/T-Mac
If healthy I will take Yao/Tmac without even consider about Manu/Duncan
As for now I will still take Yao/Tmac combo because they are younger and more fun to watch

Re: Duncan/Manu vs Yao/T-Mac
I think McGrady/Yao have more potential strictly as a duo, but we've been saying that the past four years. Until proven otherwise, got to go with the proven champions and big game performers in Duncan/Ginobili.

The one that gets past the first round.
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

McGrady and Yao have a career 172-66 win loss record together, which results to 60 + wins a season if healthy. But that is IF healthy, but I'd take Manu/Duncan just due to durability.

Exactly.
Obviously, Houston does not have the troika that San Antonio sports. It's really a two-man team in the post-season, and the Rockets just can' get it done. I hate to beat a dead horse, but a McGrady/Yao/Gay combo would've trumped the Spurs, easily.

They also have Parker who is arguably better than Manu so there you go.
RIGHT NOW I take T-Mac/Yao easily, they are younger.
In their PRIMES will take Duncan/Ginobili because they are proven, even though t-mac prime is nothing to laugh at.

Hmmm no.

Can you imagine the Rockets with Gay?
Looking back now, it was a big mistake trading Gay for Battier, IMO.

Trading Gay was a mistake on draft day, not just retrospectively. Gay was the athlete they needed alongside Yao/T-Mac, the potential third scorer, etc. Battier was a good idea in principle but bad in execution.

Yea, that was a head scratcher to me since day one.
Then again, I had Rudy Gay pegged as my top player in the draft, but people bought into all of that too passive stuff, and it seemed to snowball and drop Rudy, despite how supremely talented and young he was.

Yeah, I actually still remeber that night, I was pretty pissed off, and after watching Gay this season, it just pisses me off even more. He would have been a great fit, but most importantly a player to look forward to for the future.

Agreed. It was disastrously shortsighted. Anyone who took a five-minute glance over the roster would have been left confounded by that one. But I guess that's what you get for dealing with Jerry West.

Re: Duncan/Manu vs Yao/T-Mac
Van Gundy was the guy responsible for trading Gay for Battier. JVG thought Gay was a gifted scorer but he couldn't play any defense.
You listen to his broadcasts and he still says Gay doesn't play any defense.
I don't watch Memphis enough, but how good is Rudy's defense?

JVG was not the GM.

This is wrong, JVG stated MANY times there wouldn't be a reason why he shouldn't play Gay. He didn't want to not have Gay. This was GM Morey's idea, so if anything the deal blame goes on him.
