Shows the potential to be a 22 and 12 guy. Personally I think he will average 18 and 11 next season then increase to 22 and 12 the following season. I don't think he will drop off a bit from last year. I think hes in the top ten right now on the list of centers.

He'll end up being the 3rd best center of this/next era

Erick Dampier in 2003-04 with a bit more offense. I think 18-11 is a good guess of his peak unless he really puts a ton more effort into learning anything about playing offense that isn't a dunk. The guy just isn't a good enough finesse player to justify getting a lot more shots than he got this last year, particularly in the triangle. Plus, he needs to get stronger--his best performances last year were against teams with soft interior players, and he played pretty weakly against teams that could actually bang against him, either with PFs or Cs.

i think its safe to say your exposure to andrew bynum's game last yr was minimal at best. can't blame you since he only played the 1st 35 games, but thats no excuse for speaking about him like you know about his game.

If you're going to project out to the era, then projecting Bynum based on a 25 game stretch is no better than my projecting that Oden will be frst and Bynum will be no better than fifth based on watching him during summer league. There just isn't a basis with him coming off his injury to say that he's going to be above Oden (who was drafted based on a significantly higher potential productivity than Bynum) or Kaman (who is worlds better than him now and likely better than Bynum will ever be). I'll give you that he'll be top 10 if he returns healthy, but to get up higher he has to be spectacular in at least one area of the game, and right now he hasn't shown that he can be.

I watched him enough to know that he doesn't have a well-rounded offensive game at this point. And to know that he isn't nearly in Howard's category as an athlete or in terms of strength. And while he had nice highlight plays against stronger post players, he didn't tend to show it throughout the courses of the games against them.

farzi is the one that projected bynum top 3, not me. i simply took a friendly jab at him by not including oden.

kaman isn't worlds better than bynum. i see both play all the time, bynum is already close to him. anywhoo.

when u use terms like finesse player, no you haven't seen him play.

In all fairness to Bynum, his first two years were very different than how he played last year. He definitely showed a lot more last season before the injury. Still, what he showed was a player that, at his top end, is still probably a bit short of a 20ppg scorer unless Jackson decides to take the ball out of Kobe's hands a lot more, and I don't see that happening for quite a while.

Bynum is a nice player, but a shoe-in for top 3 of the era?

I definitely see him being a top 10 player in the NBA in his prime, with the potential of cracking the top 5 IMO..potential is far from a sure thing though..from what I've seen, his style is a cross between Howard and Yao, although obviously he isn't nearly as good as neither of those guys right now..it would have helped a lot more if he could have actually played over half the season..

injuries, injuries, injuries though..always a concern..

I see him as #4, behind Howard, Yao and Oden..

I like Kaman's basketball IQ a lot better than Bynum's, which is why I rate him higher. He's definitely not as raw.

Of course, I should give Kaman negative points for that haircut he wore before he cut it. It took Robert Swift to pass him as the ugliest center in the league, but without the haircut even Swifty couldn't get to that level of ugliness.

Tough to tell right now, hes got potential, but the problem is how is that knee going to pan out for him? A lot of players have had knee surgeries like him but never return to their old self...one of the more famous ones is Penny Hardaway.

Most players don't miss 46 regular season games and the entire post season from it either.

He should have gotten it right off the bat to see what was really wrong. Lakers would have probably won the title this year if he had.

what does that even mean?

kaman commits more turnovers than assists, bynum has more assists than turnovers. is that part of the higher bball iq?

kaman has better footwork, thats probably what u meant. he's also 5 yrs older with more experience.
