28.4 PER as a PG.....really, that's unreal when you realize that not even Magic (or any other point guard) achieved this. Also was a very efficient scorer with a TS% of close to 58%. I think there a good post by kevc somewhere......here it is.....

People don't understand how INSANELY good Chris Paul was last year. You really could make a legitimate argument it's the best year a PG has EVER had. .576 TS% while a 35.7 assist rate, led the league in steal rate, 7.8(!) turnover rate (Okay, this, in my opinion is the most impressive stat for Paul. It's like spot up shooter who never dribbles the ball number. For a guy who handles the ball almost every possession it is MIND BOGGLING. He has by far the best ball handler in the league), led the league in win shares with 50 and win shares above average with 22.5 (Magic's highest was 46 and 22) which all accumulated to a 28.39 PER (highest of any PG's in the league since the NBA/ABA merger) and highest ever by a guy shorter than 6'4". What's more impressive HE PLAYED EVEN BETTER IN THE PLAYOFFS with a PER of 30.71 comfortably leading the players in the playoffs.

I think it would go to Shaq in 2000, KG in 2004, and Lebron in 2008. Honorable mentions should go to Shaq in 01, Duncan in 02, T-Mac in 03, Kobe in 03, Wade in 06, Lebron in 06, Kobe in 06, and CP3 in 08.

People always talk about Chris Paul's points assists and steals, but easily the most impressive things is the absurdly low turnovers, and the amount of his own shots he created(only assisted on 19% of his shots). That's like half as many as some of the best shot creators in the game(Kobe 40%, LeBron 34%, Wade 29%, Deron 38%, Iverson 30%).

I think LeBron's stats are the most eye-popping.

Best all-time would have to be Jordan's 87-88 season or 88-89. Or Wilt's or Robertson's 61-62 seasons.

Best all time is clearly Wilt in 1961/62:

50.4 ppg (shooting .506 from the field, and .613 from the line, which was actually Wilt's best ever season from the line), 25.7 rpg, 2.4 apg, who knows how many bpg (probably a ton, like 3-5 bpg)

Really, I don't see how any other season can compare to a 50/26 season, at least on paper.

McGrady in 03, Shaq in 00, and Paul in 08 IMO.

32.1pts, 5.5ast, 6.3reb, on 45% shooting, and 36% 3PT, alone with what a 32PER? just unbelievable.
Shaq's was pretty amazing, I think that is the most dominant Lakers team out of the 3 peat.
Paul in 2008 I think is very deserving 20 and 10 is such a hard task to accomplish and only a little handful of players have accomplished it.

Shaq's been the best since 2000. His 2000 season was sick. First in scoring and field goal percentage. 2nd in rebounding. 3rd in blocks. Almost 4 assists per game.

All time? Well, shaq's is up there. I like kareem's 75-76 season. 27.8 points, 16.9 rebounds, 5 asts, 4.1 blks. Hakeem in 1989-1990 with 24.3 points, 14 rebounds, 2.1 stls, 4.6 blks.

Wilt's 24.2, 24.2, 7.8 is amazing though. Jordan, Bird, and Magic of course. Kobe, lebron and mcgrady. Bellamy. Dr. J. Big O. Baylor. Kg.

Russell- 14.1 points, 24.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists in 64-65. He had others like that, too.

It's a nice line but due to pace it's not the best. Many other players could've gotten that if they played on a team/in an era that had that pace.
