How is it not even close? Dwayne Wade cant even stay healthy to save his life right now...
LOL.. I love how non Heat fans, based on what they "see" from games missed assume Wade is so injury prone. Everyone blames, Wade's reckless style for attacking the rim as why he has been injured, when fact is, he tore his shoulder on a freak play getting his arm caught akwardly between Shane Battier's jersey. Up, until that point, Wade was having his BEST season yet. Now, despite many people saying he should have opted for surgey which would have ended his season, Wade, knowing our only shot for a title defense was with him back. So he put off surgey, yet wasnt fully healed in the playoffs, and it showed as we got swept by the Bulls in 2007. Now, when he FINALLY had the surgey, it ended up costing him the first 7-8 games of the season. Now, after Shaq quit on the team, and we lost Posey(people other then Heat fans now see how vital he is for a contending team), Jason Kapono, etc and they bad Ricky Davis trade, we had a horrible season. Now, why in god's name, would Riley risk our franchise player getting hurt, the last 20 or so games of meaningless season? He didnt and Wade sat, just like Marion ended up doing as well.. it's the smart thing to do. And anyone who thinks the Cavs wouldnt have benched Labron, or LA Kobe, are just being unrealistic.
So, the above being said, last season's games missed stemmed from the shoulder injury in 2007, and the fact, the last 20 or so games meant nothing, so he sat.
Bottom line, Wade is a top 5 NBA player, not only for what he does during the season, but for what he has done time and time again when it matters most, in the playoffs. Until Brandon Roy, or any of these "new" hyped players want to surpass Wade, do it when it counts.. in the playoffs, in the Finals... until I see Brandon Roy 2 years in a row have his way with one of the best defense teams ever(the Pistons), where he shot 62% against them, then go off and average 35 points a game in the Finals, hit game winner's in the playoffs, or lead his team back from 13 points down in the Finals with 6 mins left.. I don't want to hear that Brandon Roy is even on the same level as Wade... Wade's greatness stems back from his rookie season, game one against the Hornets, down 1.. head up with Baron Davis, and not only has the balls as a rookie in his first playoff game ever to attack a premier guard, but HIT the game winner..
Like I said, before we crown Brandon Roy better then Wade, let me see this guy in the playoffs, and do anything when it actually matters..
Blows my mind how fast people forget how dominate Wade has been..
