Re: Stockton or Hornacek
Stockton relied on being an athletic freak all his career, and after, what, 19 seasons of playing bball, in his 40's, his tremendous athletic ability left, and he just couldn't play anymore.

As far as Basketball IQ Stockton by a country mile.
WTH? While one may say it was freakish how little John Stockton seemed impervious to injury calling him "an athletic freak" is dead wrong. He was one of the most durable players to ever play the game but a good chunk of that was the strict play/rest rotation Jerry Sloan had him on to keep him playing as long as possible. The same Jerry sloan was quite fond of saying how he had the least athletic team in the league when he had Stockton, Hornacek, and Malone in his squad. Stockton was slow, short, kind of skinny, and had no elevation. What he did have was incredible court vision, surgical passing, an incredible sense of timing, a deceptive first step, range out past the 3, and a symbotic mind link to the Mailman.

i think a more interesting comparison would be who's the bigger dork
so just ignore the original question b/c it's stupid and answer my question on who's the bigger dork, this could be interesting

Stocking is top 5 all time with B-Ball IQ. I honestly can't think of anyone who got by more on less athletic ability and a less NBA body.
6'1, 170 Lbs. And didn't have the blazing speed or freak athleticism that gets most people his size into the NBA. He was all brains.

But seriously, Stockton was one of the highest IQ players to have ever played, this isn't close.

He doesn't want to right now, his kids are still growing up.
I wouldn't be suprised if he was the next Jazz HC.
